Meh, I don't mind that for a 6 pack to try some nice microbrew. I am after all a 22 year old with plenty of disposable income

Do Australians say "G'day mate" all the time? How many Aussies say "crikey"? Is crocodile wrestling a national pastime? How many people keep koalas as pets? Do you guys eat ostriches?

Not many people have Koalas as pets, since they're rather foul tempered.

Ostriches aren't native to Australia. Emus are though, and yes you can eat them. Quite tasty.

Koalas are wild animals, it's actually illegal to keep them as pets unless you're licensed to rehabilite ones that have been hit by cars or orphaned or whatever.

Emus are tasty, very lean, dark gamey meat.

Crocodiles are not bad either, stir-fried in XO sauce.

i would imagine crocodile meat being tough like shark meat

back when i used to eat meat, my fav was rabbit and lamb

i want some dolphin and whale.

Emu meat is awesome and no it does not taste like chicken. Much closer to beef.

Oh and Kangaroo meat is fantastic but make sure you have it at least well done. It's far to tough to have med-rare or less.

In my experience you gotta have it rare, at most med-rare. If you go any more then it goes tough.

Maybe you're getting shitty cuts or something, but normally rarer the better, cook it too much (and its a fairly fine line) and it goes tough as hell.

Its because its got such a low fat content.

That's strange. I've always had it at restaurants and the ones that were done rare just weren't very good.

I'll have to go back and have both now.

I cant eat medium rare meat no matter what it is...for me it almost always has to be well done, i even prefer burned to medium rare.

My experience is the same with roo. Both when I've cooked it and had it served. You either need to slow cook it for hours until the thing falls apart or just flash fry it and serve rare, like any other lean red game meat.

I used to be like that as a kid. couldn't stand the actual taste of the blood/meat.. needed it to be like the sole of my shoe and salty as fuck before i'd eat it. Somehow over the years I became accustomed to the taste of the meat. With really well-done meat it's harder to tell the difference between a really good piece of beef and an average piece - much more apparent when you have it rare - medium rare.

Definitely the opposite. Roo well done is just way too tough and chewy. 5 minutes of chewing each mouthful.

As already stated, it varies state to state. However, James Boags and Cascade are probably the most common and best beers in the country.

I didn't say they were the same, just that the taste slightly reminds me of it. I definitely prefer Cascade/Boags to Stella, any day.

Yea but which Stella? The Belgian brew is miles ahead of the Australian brew.

Also seems I must be wrong about how to cook kangaroo. I'll have it rare next time and see how it is.
