Really?
Complaining about something that isn't relevant? It happened long ago.
Get over it - if something happens now then I see a point in getting worked up over it.
If it bothers u so much then just don't go to Space. FFS, when I lived in Miami I never stepped foot in Space for WMC. Why? Cuz I don't want to deal with the bull shit. There's shit tons of other parties.

Show me these "hundreds" of people complaining.
And let me ask you this, why vent on a forum where, until now, no one from the venue bothered to look? To be honest, we never gave this place a second thought until recently, since the speculation on the current situation was getting a little far-fetched to let us merely sit by and let it be. It's not a local media outlet/forum, and the crowd here tends to bash us for booking trance DJs as much as we used to. So, why are we going to willingly stick our hand into the shark tank?
With that in mind though our website has about six different ways to get a hold of people at the venue. Rather than preaching to the choir, address your concerns to people who can do something about it. http://www.clubspace.com/contact - It's all right there.
Accusing our security staff of taking bribes on this forum is easy. All your friends are here and they'll back you up. Sort of a self-validation.
If you notify us directly, we can take it under advisement and watch for incidents like this in the future. We're glad to help you guys out, but we can't do much if it never reaches our inbox. I'd definitely love to stick around and participate more, but not if this is the sort of behavior that is allowed to happen. Maybe I'm old, but even when I have gripes about something I tend to approach it in a respectful, appropriate manner.
Welcome to the forum- though doesn't seem like you really want to be here.
First off:
" why vent on a forum where, until now, no one from the venue bothered to look? "
To notify others of past experiences, be them good or bad. Space itself doesn't need to look. They don't need to improve. Don't bother reading critics and just do your own thing for as long as you like. The point is looking every now and then might benefit you if the criticism is valid. People should let others know how something is according to them cause if it is the case, they then are doing a good thing and preventing others from experiencing a shitty time or what have you. A lot might be BS but some might be legit and worth looking into.
Second
"So, why are we going to willingly stick our hand into the shark tank? "
Fair enough statement but no need for it. The first part about Miami locals preferring non trance would have sufficed. And you are really the only ones who know how ticket sales do, however, this statement also contradicts your Friday and Saturday main room events. If you book for the main room you must think something will work out. Seems like its trance those two nights. So you could rephrase it as people like certain trance in Miami or at your venue and not others. And in that sense, people might just be complaining that the matching of PVD with the artists he has isn't as good as it could be if you already are going to be doing PVD nights - aka TRANCE nights.
"Rather than preaching to the choir, address your concerns to people who can do something about it. "
Already addressed this one. Venues might not give a crap if they are successful, and so "preaching" to actual people might help them in not making a bad decision. If you think that is something that should not be done, WOW is your club screwed up. Try looking at concerns and talk directly to the people - which seems is why they made you get on this forum. Most venues DO come to forums like this and reply to concerns to show they do try.
Oh and in case you didn't know Trance Addict isn't all trance fans. So this might be an outlet you guys can use successfully if you change the club mentality.

Well, I'm not saying we're not gonna stick around and see what you guys want. To be honest, the view around the office is that the forums tend to be filled with perpetual malcontents, and we can't win. We could book Paul Van Dyk, do free admission all night long, and open bar all night long, and there would still be someone on our case.
However, like anything it involves sorting out the rational criticisms and compliments from the noise. Price of freedom I guess. I'm glad it's an open forum personally. I posted on another forum the other day, and it has some sort of moderation queue where the guy running the joint checks every post. Ick.
So yeah, let's put this one to bed.
- We're actively helping on the murder case. If any of you have any details, please let the police know!
- Any other Space questions and concerns, PM me, or use the contact forms on our website. Someone checks those daily so it's not a "bot".
itd be nice if you stuck around. the longer you do, the more credit you will also obtain on this board. theres other promoters on this board that dont get shit from members. and members generally dont dish it out unless it is in fact deserved. just try us out for awhile.
the beginning is always the roughest because everyone always has something to say, but as soon as you settle in, you'll see, we have very valid opinions that in the long run could actually benefit your club.
my main question regarding space is why so little trance (or variety in general) gets booked. sander van doorn for example killed it each time hes been at space (sept 07, dec 07, march 08) and im sure he'll kill it with pvd, but hes never been brought back again. sander himself at the time said space was one of, if not the best club he'd ever played.
now we on this forum assume its because sander simply didnt bring in enough money for the club but all we can do is assume because those are the kinds of questions that never get answered, even when we try and contact space.
lately the bookings have gotten better with the techno loft and we appreciate that but id still like to see a little more variety. i understand you guys are trying, so dont take everything we say negatively and that we are asking for too much. but why do we never see the likes of picotto or sander kleinenberg anymore? sander k used to own the terrace and there was such an awesome relationship there, we always wondered what happened but never got an answer. same with tiesto and space. we assume tiesto got too expensive but thats all we can do. im not trying to say you should answer these questions, im just saying these are the kinds of things we wonder about. yea we wonder about the bribing bouncers too (i myself have seen it and done it cuz i needed to) but once those initial questions get out of the way, you'll quickly realize this is a great community with a lot to offer. hopefully you can see that.
"All your friends are here and they'll back you up."
Like I said before. I'm not from Miami, let alone Florida. None of these people know me. I don't know any of them. But considering the fact several of them have said the exact same thing I have should make you wonder. But you could care less. More power to you.
I sent a few e-mails about PvD's night at Space and about Parkwest on Armada night back in 2008 to complain. My response was something equivalent to "Show me!" then too. Wouldn't surprise me if you typed the response or if you were over the shoulder of the person responding to me. And there were a lot of pissed off people in line. I made a few dozen new friends that Thursday night and Saturday night just venting about how we wish we had money to bribe the security. Me and couple of friends actually tried to do it at Parkwest after a few groups did it. The guys laughed at us for only shelling out $60.
As it was stated by MJM74, this thread isn't the place. And I am sorry for dragging it out. I just think it's deplorable that you would brush off the complaints of several customers like that. We're not looking for free passes or free drinks, we just don't want to experience that again. Well, I won't experience it again thankfully.
