I'm still trying to understand how anybody can say that all news is "totally void of factual basis". That pretty much renders The17sss' opinions absolutely null and void from here on out, in my opinion. Stupidest Goddamned thing I've ever heard.

People from around the world know more about the inner workings of our country and media than our own.... how exactly? By viewing their own media who is largely state controlled in many cases? Foreign media has their own biases of America and likely reports to that effect, especially when American national interests are not always aligned with other countries'. I fully acknowledge we have our fair share of mouth-breathers here... but so do all countries, as soon as you step outside of major metropolitan areas. I fail to support the insinuation that the bulk of Americans, especially those who go to college and make something of themselves, "don't get it" by fiat of being American. And, dude... what are you talking about with Olbermann? He is the most hateful, sanctimonius, snide, bitter piece of shit with an opinion show on cable news (after Ed Schultz)! Not rude? Admits mistakes? LOLOLOL!!!

DjWhoCares: you're doing it again... you can't say Fox is a right wing propoganda tool without accepting that MSNBC/CNN is a left wing propoganda tool. You can't call Fox out for "scare tactics" and "disingenuous" claims without doing the same for MSNBC/CNN. You have no basis to just say "B-b-but Fox is the worst at it!" Says who... MSNBC hosts? Believe it or not, I watch all of them. I tune in to Olbermann, Chris Matthews, Anderson Cooper, Hannity, O'Reilly... all of them. There is a much more elitist, condescending and angry tone to MSNBC than the rest... and people don't want to hear that shit so much, which is why the have the lowest rated shows.... actually Anderson Cooper hit the bottom rung on the ladder a couple months ago, but who's counting.

This. And in addtion to american programs we get domestic ones as well, so an issue is usually fairly represented from many side. In opposition to that 25% of americans get their news exclusively from fox (cant be bothered to find the link to the poll now, its easily googlable i think). And while Olberman isnt known for holding his tongue, you might want to check when he unleashes his power...most likely in response to blatant lies from fox like just for example the outrageous claims in the health care debate that the hc bill would cover illegal immigrant even though almost every network showed an image of a page from the bill on which it was written in big bold letters "no healthcare for illegal immigrants". When faced with such blatant lies its only right that he raises his voice and points out that the oppositions arguments are completely false. And, not to mention, he doesnt cut off the microphones of his guests, starts insulting them and ends the interview when he starts loosing the debate. Thats something O'Riley has done on several occasions for example. I wont even try to disassemble Beck without channelling some of the greatest psychiatric minds of history at once.


Also, why is elitist considered a bad word, i haven't heard a good case for that...well ever.

I'm waiting for something to equal that level.. then I'll budge. But there's been nothing remotely close. So far, it's been about different clips of crowd sizes, unflattering photoshops of 2 NYT reporters who wrote an unflattering story about Fox, lots of claims of racism (although they have more anchors of color than MSNBC, and regularly have Al Sharpton, Juan Williams, and several others as guest contributers)... oh, and a link to their opinion pundit shows not covering as much on Haiti as MSNBC/CNN. None of those examples comes near what MSNBC did, in trying to whip up a race war by creating something from nothing.

Well you wanted examples of fucks news distorting the news and editing media to a fit a bias. I just gave you two clear examples that they had to apologize for.
