Heh. I would mostly agree.

Sasha's recent stuff is great to listen to at home or in the car, but most of the time, I get bored out at the club with him.

Digweed always seems to bring it, no matter where I see him.

When they play together, it really is 1+1=3.

But, yes, the current sound is not like the prog of old. That's why I listen to Hernan Cattaneo, Deep Mariano and Martin Garcia as well.

Okay, listening to the JJJ mixup right now. Online I found the tracklist as:

01. Sasha & Digweed Interview
02. Sasha & Maria Naylor - Ther Other Side
03. Fade - Heaven To Heaven (96 Reformation Mix)
04. Dove Beat - La Paloma (Ocean Mix)
05. Franco & Grimm - Forbidden Planet (Roland Klinkenberg Mix)
06. Hector - Exit Acid
07. Jayn Hanna - Lost Without You (Edge Factor Dub)
08. Chris Domingo - I Believe
09. ID (Sample)
10. Sunday Club - Paladian Dawn (Edge Factor Mix)
11. Slacker - God Damn Noise
12. T Era - El Tren (Slacker Transporto Mix)
13. Salt Tank - Swell
14. Slacker - Your Face
15. Sian - Stronger Together (Slacker Dub)
16. Ispirazione - Psalm
17. Guya Reg - No Time (One O'Clock)
18. Arkana - House On Fire (Andy Ling Aryan Vocal Mix)
19. Art Of Trance - Kaleidoscope (Sunday Club Lens Of Atlantis Mix)
20. Quietman - Now And Zen
21. Led Zeppelin - Babe (I'm Gonna Leave You) (Quivver Mix)
22. Slacker - Scared (Of Tomorrow)
23. Love Club - The Journey (The Light Mix)
24. Blue Amazon - And Then The Rain Falls (Andy Ling's Soviet Dub)

Is that correct? I know most of it is, but I can't find 02. Sasha & Maria Naylor - Ther Other Side on Discogs. Am I just looking in the wrong place or is this TL wrong? Can someone help?

It's not entirely accurate: the last track is Forbidden Zone, for example. There is a better tracklist floating around, but The Other Side does exist: http://www.discogs.com/Maria-Nayler...ed/master/82789

Brilliant set, by the way. Just a shame those gaps between parts spoil the flow a little.

I wish those two would go back to playing big room prog again. Although in my opinion Sasha's latest remixes seem to be going in the right direction.

Were any of the other delta heavy sets ever recorded? Other then the 2002 EM mix?

Posted by enydo on Mar-14-2011 19:55:

I've got a 3 part one from Orlando I think, if they actually played there and it's not just titled wrong. Has some decent stuff on it, one of the sections is all downtempo and stuff.

Any chance of you uploading that please?

Which is not to say that the Delta Heavy period sucked, I just think that dark prog was a reaction to what was going on in the mainstream and closer to modern tech-prog than most people want to admit.

There is no such thing as ''tech prog'' tho. ''Modern Tech prog''
I got no problem with anybody doing their thing but don't turn around and call that shit progressive. Progressive house whole other thing. As far as fads... whatever... We are still here... Ny Tribal. West 27th for life

You have a massive problem with other people doing their thing, Existo.

Well you will have to forgive my slight slips into dance music related misanthropy from time to time but hey that aside labeling the hipster facade that is going on now as progressive is just reducing the whole scene and what it once stood for... So System just pretend this crap isn't progressive. I say pretend because realize might be too strong of a word for you.

There is not gonna be another twilo. Those days will never come back. The land lord wants 100.000 a month for rent with a years rent security up front and is not willing to give a 10 year lease. So 1.2 million dollars... How is anybody gonna get that? With what type of music? Playing dubstep and minimal? Right...

What crap? What do you think I was labelling "tech prog"? I haven't named any artists, tracks or labels. Furthermore, the sound of progressive has changed a lot over the years. Did React 2 Rhythm sound like Blue Amazon, did Rich Dekkard sound like Moonface? The Delta Heavy shit sounded nothing like what was being called progressive ten years earlier. The reasons you don't want to connect tech prog with "classic prog" are purely sentimental. There were no end of people noticing the tech-house influence on S&D around the time of Delta Heavy. That dark-prog phase was the beginning of tech hegemony. Sasha and Digweed didn't turn to shit overnight. You just didn't notice the stylistic shift until it was too late.
