In Sobe, Taco Rico is better than Lime (a little greasier though). Both are on Alton Rd. You can't beat it for Tex-Mex in that price range.
Sushi Siam or Yummy Chinese & Sushi Bar are both great places to have sushi in Sobe without spending ridiculous money. If you want that, go to Sushi Samba.
If you are going to Little Havana, La Carreta is down the street from Versailles and I think has hands-down better food (no bakery though) for the same price. I've eaten at both many times.
Cve-Che was pretty decent when I ate there for the first time recently...
AVOID JERRYS FAMOUS DINER LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is all.
Oh, if you are willing to drive to Kendall (WTF?) to save money on alcohol, just go to Total Wine in North Miami on Biscayne Blvd and save a few precious of hours of dealing with tolls and traffic during your WMC stay.

I found that while searching, should be a good place for a meal at any time. very close to my place.
made a map for myself, if anyone wants to see it I will post it up.
moved map to page 1 so more people can see it.
We're renting an apartment with a kitchen, it's a good way to save $$$. Unfortunately can't afford to eat out with most of our funds going on flights, rent, event tickets (and of course the extra stuff that goes along with WMC
We're on Collins Ave, up near 9th. Any suggestions for cheap alcohol and supermarkets around there would be appreciated

Just FYI...
Sobe stops selling alcohol at any locations except bars & night clubs at midnight. So word to the wise stock up when u arrive to your hotel with plenty of alcohol.
Also buy those big 16 oz red dixie cups & have extra plastic bottles of water or soda or even gatorade to fill up with liqour. When you leave your hotel you leave with a full dixie cup of liquor & a plastic bottle full to replenish your drink while you are on your way to a club (in a taxi) or walking to a pool part on sobe.
Or buy a super size drink from subway, BK or any food place that has those big plastic cups. Keep a few on hand so you have a bigger cup to travel with. When your done throw it away & buy another one if yo need to if not use another one you may have back at your hotel for another day when heading out to a party.

Just thought I would post up some websites of some of the places on the map I posted.
I got very hungry.
posted them on page 1 so more people can see them.
huh, I didn't know there was a five guys in South beach. That may well serve me better than pizza for a grease craving some day.
nice 5 guys burgers! Had them for the first time doing a drive through Utah. Really good imo. Never paid attention to it before. never had fatburger to compare it to though. But 5 guys imo is better than in and out and johnny rockets

i had 5 guys burgers once and it was really good - though i may have been pretty damn hungry. Was 2 years ago and forgot its name till i saw the links posted. And it was massive there - like 4 times the size of a normal fast food joint. Maybe if i have it again it wont be as great or its based on location. But yea, heard fatburger is amazing. Will try both and see if i still like 5 guys burgers.
Oh and for the diner i think 11th st - the classic shaped long one - get the french toast - YUM!

Can anyone recommend any good vegan options? I'm not myself but I have a friend coming who is, and we had a hard time finding stuff for her to eat last year.
There seems to be a few in downtown Miami and a few in SoBe, according to google, not sure if they are good, never been to Miami before.

| Originally posted by stepotts Does anyone know of a decent vegetarian or vegetarian-friendly restaurants around SoBe? As I have no idea about restaurants in Miami, especially veggie ones, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers |
