i too hate liquor. beer is my love. but its getting me fat.

Posted by DPetey81 on Mar-05-2010 21:58:

liquor all the way, I hate how full and tired I feel with beer.

And... it's nice to be in shape, especially just for feeling better, but I think the "self conscious" angle diminishes as you get older.

Now it's so much harder to lose the extra flab even though nobody notices when I lose or gain it. It's more of a personal thing - you wanna "feel" good, no squishy spots when you're in a hot place like Miami. It's also great motivation for getting back in shape. About 3 weeks left, not sure how much I can possibly lose (fat, not weight), but I'm going all out. I hate non-sports Cardio (and I didn't sign up for any leagues this semester), but I guess I might as well incorporate it on off days. Eating right is obviously key, but the one thing that always screws me over...

booze

I'm so excited about WMC that I want to go out more and attend local events, but realistically I can't go and not drink, so I guess I'll have to lay low until I lose the fat. How do you guys stop yourselves on weekends (or maybe even the odd pint or six on a weekday)? Will power

sorry to say ----------------drugs...it helps. less calories than alcohol.

guess i'm a horrible person but it's the truth

no, you're right, but I can't do em anymore. seriously, not like I shouldn't...I actually can't. HPPD, google it. Also if I was going to, would nowhere attempt the sort of frequency that people including myself drink with (even 2 nights a week holy shit!, although I know people who can get away with it). Weed, well that would be a pizza fest for me so even if I could, not a weight loss solution. I've just gotten back to the gym and diet, but you know, when the clock is ticking, there's only so much you can do.

Also...yes, beeeer. Liquor is good for a club (rum diet even, scotch if you're into it), but beer definitely the king of alcohols if I had to chose just one forever. Unfortunately all liquor cuts down on your fat metabolism and for me usually results in eating like crap right after...oh and then the next day, and then not going to the gym...and then the cycle repeats. I just have to hold off clubbing until WMC. I think I can pull if off.

Honestly the trick is to work out and eat right. Before I had my baby I was the heaviest I've ever been because I used to drink massive amounts of beer, not work out & eat crap. I got pregnant which meant more weight gain. Since I had her 7 months ago I've lost a looot of weight because I've been very strict with how I eat BUT I still drink a lot of beer lol. I love beer, I can't give it up and obviously while pregnant I didn't touch 1 so I kinda went crazy after I had her lol. But yeah now I am down to 112 and I still drink beer. It's all about what you eat/how late you eat that plays a role and working out.

That's pretty impressive. I don't know anyone who regularly drinks beer, has a flat stomach and isn't super skinny naturally. You must have a great metabolism. I can't do the moderation thing. If I drink beer, I'm not going to have it with a salad. I do know a couple of people who stay insanely ripped and who drink a decent amount. I'm just an average person. 2000-2500 calories a day would keep me perfectly lean. That only occurs during periods like now, when I'm working out and eating right (6 small meals, etc.). One of my friends, a girl can't put on fat if she tried. She also happens to love beer. I hate her.

I have begun my no-beer diet, this sucks!! But at least some of the water-weight will be gone by the tim I had east. I miss my beer already =\

Posted by TaurusNYY on Mar-10-2010 17:56:

I also have been working out 5 days a week- In pretty decent shape but can get better, like we all can. Now you ppl have me considering cutting out Beer- My true wingman , ohh well at least his siamese brother Vodka can be there for me in moderation.

that's not a euphemism, right?

funny thing is, the second we're at our first event, we will be pounding back the alcohol like prohibition just ended. I'm ok with that though.

Posted by MdTechno on Mar-17-2010 21:46:

well I made my goal weight wise 6 days early, 149. yeeeh me

now once I have some carbs I will put back on 3-4 pounds of water weight but that will actually make me look fuller.

Posted by SeventhSense on Mar-17-2010 22:47:

I failed at my no-beer diet and then pulled my quad so I cant run or ride my bike. ASOASHDAOSD!!! Oh well...im ready for this shit though, cant it be Sunday yet? Then i can start packing and dream of Big Pinks for breakfast on Monday!

6 hard days of working out till WMC. I was a fat stinky slob 3 months ago. Now, I just stink.

Posted by ThisIsTulsa on Mar-19-2010 18:34:

Full on high rep mode from here on out. Unfortunatly I can't run neary as far or fast as I need to at this point. Though sometimes I wonder how much it matters. Some years I think I am in great shape from running and ready to dance forever...but really nothing can replace dancing for 8 hrs straight to get you in shape.

Posted by raven848 on Mar-19-2010 19:42:

just try to eat well during WMC! I know it sounds impossible... but find out if your room has a fridge/microwave and bring some real food. This has helped me SO much the last few years.

Posted by MdTechno on Mar-19-2010 20:22:

well I plan to buy things like eggs, good cereal and milk, juice, water for my early morning / late night meals and cook in my hotel. then during the day and at parties whatever I can get for the most part.

Posted by SeventhSense on Mar-20-2010 00:36:

Came down with a nasty soar throat the last couple of days. Over feel OK but not great. Slamming the EmergenC, Zicam, and Airborne right now. Feeling a bit better today, hopefully good as new by Sunday/Monday =\

Posted by Banora on Mar-20-2010 02:27:

Yeah, so much for working out and eating healthy; getting a boyfriend who enjoys sitting at home and gaming for hours as much as you do kinda kills that.

On the plus side I am still under 110lbs, so I'm not too worried.
