While we're on the subject, did Mansion increase their prices on drinks? Last time I was there I think drinks were $15-$17 if my memory serves me right, but it probably doesn't.
no idea on drink prices. last time i was there was june last year.

Don't dress heavy either cause the place gets hotter than the Space terrace/Eden Nocturnal Terrace.

i had such an awesome time last night. pvd brought it for once. dont get me wrong it still wasnt the best shit in the world like nov05 or actually any set from those days but he did way better last night than hes been doing lately. the first hour he was SLAMMING it out so hard. also the last 30 he was going nuts. soooo nuts. he slowed it down a bit in the middle and there were a couple tracks i kinda slept though but for the most part i knew i fuckin knew i had to go to this because pvd at a new venue? no space for the first time in well forever. i knew pvd was gonna bring it. and oh it was brought so good.
those led screens at mansion were the fuckin shit. last time i was there was june 09 for sander k so that was news to me. mansion wasnt overly packed, maybe it was the rain i dunno but that was nice. it wasnt overly hot either. thank god!!!
sound is well the sound at mansion. its not horrible but because its a big room the bass doesnt kick hard enough. but we all already know that.
beers were $8 a pop but fucking 16% gratuity already included!! so ordering 2 beers yielded $19. first time i added tip on top of that too cuz i didnt know. 19 seemed a weird number to me so i looked at the receipt and yep, 16% tip included. pretty lame. after that i stopped tipping and really only left $1. told a couple people too and no one knew. so yea, be aware for umek and carl cox.
he came on at around 1:45 and finished at like 4:58. so we got a little more than 3 hours.
i got some really nice pics just my damn resize program needs a damn serial# (grrr) so i gotta resize manually in photoshop which is a pain so those will come later. vids are already uploading but yea like i already said 10.2gbs so it wont be all done until like wednesday probably. lol. i got a fucking 13 minute video (2.3gbs) of him KILLIN at the end. my arm was so fuckin tired. lol. some of my vids are a bit shakey too but sorry i was having too good of a time.

I gotta say.. around 4:20'ish I thought he was gonna start winding it down a bit but I think his last 30 minutes was the craziest he played all night! He sped those bpms up and was just dropping bombs..

Great night all around IMO. Got to Mansion @ 1:30 and walked right in thru willcall in about 2 minutes flat. Once in the mainroom I immediately noticed they had the sound turned waaaaaay up. I think their problem is they do not have a sound engineer or anybody with the know-how to tweak the system and set the levels correctly, because it is loud as hell. Absolutely love that video-led screen setup behind the DJ booth, amazing IMO. Fact they spent the $$$ on it tells me they really are going for a more DJ-driven party, and it adds to the overall quality of a DJ show.
As for PVD, I honestly think the change of scenery from Space to Mansion was good for him. IMO he delivered a very good 'fun, party & dance your ass off' set. The set flowed very well and had a little bit of everything. Played a good variety of trance, everything from melodic, to vocals, to tech-trance, to high-energy/bpm trance. Also dropped some house, but it was mostly harder stuff with some techy breakdowns as well. There were no major lowpoints IMO, and I'll just have to forgive him for dropping that I'm in Miami Bitch crap track that he needs to lose already.
If I had to choose one word to describe last night, it would be EPIC!
A friend of mine, who saw PVD last week at amnesia, was showing me videos of the event and I was very impressed by the giant LED tvs. With that in mind, I told him and my g.f (while we were waiting for PVD to start): "you know what would make this party epic? If there was a giant LED screen behind the DJ"...they both agreed that it would be amazing. about an hour later, PVD is set up and he starts lowering the music then he turns it back up full force and at the same time a GIANT LED screen (in 4 parts) is turned on! It was the most incredible feeling. As much as I wanted it to begin with, I NEVER thought they would actually have one. I also didn't think that mansion was gonna top what space did in Nov. when PVD was there but they did all that and more. I just hope that they keep that LED screen for future events. I'm not sure if it was only for the "no sleep till miami" events.
As far as PVD's set, it was amazing. He ALWAYS delivers a good time.
It would be great if we could have the booking team from Eden over at Mansion. SVD would be so much fun there
