lawler was OK in main room.. he played some good stuff but was a little bit all over the place though.. the vibe is usually off in that room anyways..

p.s. that nous sommes track is brutal, a lot of people are playing it for some weird reason, fanciulli, villalobos, lawler, vath, etc.. all collectively tripping out imo lol..

SKYBAR on the other hand I thought was perfect. Haven't heard a set like that years in Toronto.. Mixing, flow, and overall vibe was virtually flawless.. Heavy, groovy, sexy basslines.. He was definitely ready for this gig and in top form.. I remember people's hands were up during almost every track.. and he properly calmed the set down near the end.

lawler skybar > lawler mainroom

track of the night:

I don't think this song should be played by anyone for that matter. It's the kind of track that would make me walk away from a party.

As mentioned previously, Lawler is not for everyone. You love him or hate him. This past weekends Lawler marathon proves to me why I will always continue to support him.

Great Review Knox

So All in all, I had a fucking awesome night. We got there around 11:30 ish, and walked right in, no lines no nothing and was very surprised at how dead it was, however It sure did fill up. We got our cds through them in a bag and coat checked them, as we didnt want them to end up like the many crushed on the ground.

In regards to Darius Syrossian & Nyra I found them to be God Awful. A clear lack of ability to program a set. It honestly felt like it was there first time playing a big room and just randomly experimenting with the crowd. There definitely seem to be a lot of OPPS!! Moments with them. They definetly were able to start a great vibe, however that was only capable of lasting one singular track *facepalm*

Oh well im sure they can do better, and from what it seems like there wetbar set over very well. However it will be difficult to give them another chance.

Steve Lawler, from the moment he came on, So much fun. Well worth waiting through all the garbage before hand. Everything I expected and a bit more. I really am still unsure how I felt about the electroish track its really awkward and understand the merit in it but just not for Lawler. But I know one person who was happy to hear it.We only stayed down stairs till about 4am until we headed up to sky bar to snag a spot for the sunrise.

The sunrise set was great, defiantly better than being on Canada day weekend, not nearly as rammed.

This is as much as im going to be able to get out of a review right now.

But amazingly Magical Weekend. Thank You
