Ashley and I stumbled upon some great music throughout the week at random spots. We saw Jody Wisternoff a couple times at Root Society without knowing it was him and he was murdering it. Saw Jamie Jones, Damian Lazarus, Mr. C and Seth Troxler at Nexus on Friday and then later saw Jamie Jones and Seth play a nutty sunrise set at Disco Knights. SOOOO fucking good!!! Saw Cassy play a sunrise set on Robot Heart in addition to Lee and Nikita playing on Robot Heart sunrise set as well. Saw Filthy Rich ABSOLUTELY DESTROY one of the domes at Root Society, the whole place was blacklit with everyone glowing GOING NUTS I have some pretty dope vids of everything, will definitely post up asap.

I get chills just looking at all the pics and vids, wanting to go back so bad! (and while writing this post) Mad props to the sound systems at all the places. Top notch sound at nearly all of the camps/art cars we went to. WAYYY better than most big club systems around SF.

Also props to Josh and Michael and everyone at our camp for providing awesome music all week.

TAKE ME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Words can only do so much! I will upload the vids so everyone can see what's up but the vids won't do the place justice. The whole place is a freakin carnival and at night it turns into an adult electric light parade with crazy beats everywhere and as far as the eye can see.

Sound out there was amazing for sure. Especially Robot Heart.

On a side note, how is the sound quality on your new Canon. Does it blow out?

this is very very true.

i ran into very very good prog and sometimes bouncy fun choons and the best parties/random gathering while wandering the playa and stumbling upon a various art cars and their sound systems. (the art car with the huge glowing heart played some good shit for sure!)

while root society, etc/lager camps, catered to the masses...they can be fun parties but musically not the best stuff...i kept on trippin out how the BM folks were eatin up the dubstep stuff like no other...i mean, the dance areas were f'ing packed with folk lovin that shit...i was like, where in the f did this hip hop acid techno come from? hahahhah just kidding i like it for about 30 seconds then over it.

i tried my best to use that dj guide thing...but you lose the sense of time while wandering the playa.

cant wait to go back.

Definitely depends on your taste in music. We heard a few good sets by Burridge, DJ Dan, Jeff Allen, and some good deep progressive at the Robot Heart but 99.9% of what we heard while exploring was not our thing. And god do burners love their dubstep.

Doesn't really matter though as we didn't go there for music. When we happened across some good music, we happily stayed and partied. Otherwise it was all about exploring.

yeah, is that what it was called>? robot heart? all i know is that that art car did have the best music for sure.

i loved going back home in the am and hearing the bass pounding off in the distance...so good..it made me want to go back out.... but by that time, my ass was so fucking tired, i passed the fuck out.

I imagine everyone saw the blue lights/balloons that were always over the playa at night but on one night they took the strand and hooked it up the the man in the middle of the heart. Was VERY cool.

Can see the lights below but they aren't hooked up to the heart yet.

Can see them here as dawn approaches:

great photos.

one of our friends saw the blue lights balloons off in the distance...and was like..."how in the world did they get that light to bend like that?" so funny and cute. hahahha

i explained they were balloons and he was like ohhhhh.

but i wonder how long he was mind fucking himself with that thought. we all know this feeling.

I was boggled by those balloons for days. It almost looked like some crazy lazer at times. Later I found that it was some old guy riding a bike around the playa with the balloons attached to his bike. He would ride around all night shifting the stream of balloons around. Pretty awesome.

Wife and I are seriously considering our 1st BM next year so I've been trolling this thread and saw this.

OMG, He played that track in Tahoe last month and we just stopped in our tracks cuz it was so odd. Plan on seeing him next week in Sac. and sooo hope he has taken that out of his box!

Me too. And when we were at Robot Heart and Michelle said to me "look, they are reeling in the ballons" we were just major trippin'. Walked over to them and touched them lol.

Did you guys see those floating lantern lights at night that floated up into the sky so high they disappeared into the atmosphere? Those things still boggle my mind.

Oh and I have been having the most awesome playa dreams as of late. Every night is a new adventure!

YES! Those were soooooo awesome, we were watching them from a scaffold and it looked like they went up forever into space. Great job with the DISTRIKT camp, def some crazy times had there this year.

well put josh and matt i loved our camp and yes the music that got played by josh and michael was amazing!!! i learned last year that you don't go for the music or try and follow around a schedule of djs. you just explore and then you will tend to stumble upon some great sounds. but BM is more for the all over senses. my favorite night was thursday when i just disappeared by myself and wandered for hours....the natural enhancers helped the visual experience and i just got lost. it was truly amazing and after reading all this again, makes me miss it even more. but next year will be here again soon and even more of my friends will make this year and i will make even more friends from the wonderful people that flock to BRC every year

I am a little disappointed with the audio quality on it. The bass is too overpowering on the vids, unlike the 870is where the audio is great. I don't know what to do now since I've had it for a few months. But the picture and vid quality looks great on my HDTV. But I might look for another camera with better audio quality for club/festival environments. I am going to try and post vids this weekend and you will see/hear what I am talking about.
