yes it is. if you have a bra size that's not common, going up a band size and down a cup size or down a band size and up a cup size does work. when i worked at victoria's secret that's what we suggested plus there are many times i've really liked a bra but the cup size in the 32 only went so far so I'd go up to 34 and down a cup size. i always use the tightest hook on the 34 but it most definitely works; not as ideal as my size but it's more or less the same.

I've only ever had to fiddle with band size..I've always been a B cup. I used to always buy bras based on them fitting on the tightest clasp which, after having a professional bra fitting, I learned is wrong. All my bras fit perfectly now, just from getting them to fit on the middle clasp. I also stick to buying from just one store.
