MTL's EDM scene is THE trouble - PP ain't the trouble - Last years attendances decreased of 30% Everywhere > Everyone is suffering, only small cosy/chill places + bumpy/innovative concepts&events are making dinero[$] at the moment in Mtl i.e Mac Bar, Igloo Fest, Piknik, BBDC77 show, etc..
too much money, too much Armin for starters
marko is correct
the scene is going through a transformation
i'm going to ask you to elaborate max
gladly
events and club nights are making way more money than before
places like velvet/un/daome/ohm/ give people an alternative to the big clubs and they seem to be sticking to it
and like marko said funky events like piknic/loft parties/igloo fest are changing the game and offering the public alternative to big shows... a great example of this would be sensation at terrasse vs. close to 4000 at piknic the same day
i agree with you, but it is hardly a new thing...history always repeats itself.
if you don't have a product that people_like, it is normal for customers to go places that cater to their tastes. It isn't the small clubs stealing business from the big ones, as much as the big ones not adapting and sticking to the status quo.

| Originally posted by kanaBEATya i know ive posted this somewhere else in this forum, but now im adding #5 to the list ....... ive always had a lot of respect for the organization but what the hell is productions playground doing? 1) spring 2010: epic failure for tiesto at time supperclub (party stopped by the cops) 2) summer 2010: tons of sound complaints for tiesto at beachclub 3) sensation 2010: from the bell to red lite?!? then cancelled 4) october 10: throwing an event the same night as black & blue??? 5) cancelling the event (the second cancellation in a month) stick to BEB and Resolution. they were both great this year! it's a shame for Montreal's party scene. way to kill the little US tourism we're slowly getting back since the recession.... and way to go on dividing the gay community by throwing an event (clearly targetting gays) on the same night as black & blue. |
