Somewhat OT, but if you guys ever want to see some REAL arrogance (usually from people without the experience, knowledge, or talent to back it up), go hang out at gearslutz for a few days.

As for the ego I cannot believe that anyone actually gets that touchy over someone actually thinking highly of themselves. I don't know if it's insecurity or jealousy or whatever the issue is but get the fuck over it. The guy is fucking successful. If he feels like reminding you guys of that because you are CONSTANTLY trying to call his experience meaningless, then let him. And as far as the internet is concerned, yes, the fact that abrasive humor is extremely commonplace makes me think you guys are acting out of line for overreacting to it, not the other way around. You're all adults, you should probably start learning how to ignore trivial bullshit and just take the good from people like him instead of going on with the unbelievably boring pedantry that typically goes on around here. There are times when he's out of line, I understand that, but he's done more to make up for it than anyone else here. Why you guys think the countless times he's helped us out when we need it is suddenly irrelevant is beyond me. |

This thread does have me a little ticked off, about now.

I find your usage of the word 'noob' insulting.

this is without a doubt the most whiniest section of tranceaddict. I know you guys want to improve the place, but damn.

Not worked up about the whole thing myself, but I basically agree with Kysora.
Too often "music is subjective" and similar platitudes are used to dismiss the value of knowledge and skills that take years and years of practice to develop, which M4B has and many or maybe most here (including me) do not. A lot of producers seem to have a certain comfort zone, a place where they feel that acquiring more traditional knowledge of music would not be worth it to them. In itself, this is fine, but sometimes it overflows into an obvious resentment and trashing of someone who is clearly on another level when it comes to that stuff.
I'm not suggesting it's about jealousy, necessarily. It's more a case of this petulant "Who does he think he is?! I'm just fine right where I am!" sort of thinking.

| Originally posted by Kysora I seriously doubt he's done that. If he did, like Eddie said, they had it coming to them. |

I seriously hope he's having a good chuckle at all this.

| Originally posted by Kysora M4B literally spent his life studying and pursuing music, he's undeniably amazing at it, yet people try and reduce his experience and knowledge to nothing because they have their own uninformed beliefs and opinions that they feel are just as credible because "music is subjective". If I were M4B there wouldn't be words to describe how fucking aggravating it'd be to hear something like that, especially coming from bedroom producers over the internet. |
Howay guys wtf??
Yes M4B can be over the top and often is full of himself, but why does it bother you so much?? I like his humour, it's good crack, and the bits that are not, well, just ignor it. It's just words on a screen why let it get to you?? You should all know what he's about by now, at least enough to take what he says with a pinch of salt.
If his banter aint your thing, just don't read his posts.
Why should you have to put up with someone's blatant disrespect for everybody else, and constant chatter of how awesome he is, how you will never be as succesful, and all the other jargon he spills?
I don't want that shit in real life, and I don't want it on my computer screen.
Tell me to "stop being so sensitive" for all I care, but your good friend Mad4Brad got a little bit "sensitive" in this thread too, didn't he? Maybe you should tell him to lighten up
And by the way, he's not laughing about this right now. He thought that because of his musical knowledge he could come here and eventually say whatever he wanted to anybody and you sheep would lap it up because you looked up to him. Remember when he first made his return? Quiet as a mouse, now he's high and mighty again, just like "RichieV" was.. shock horror, before he fucked off the boards.
Baa!!!
I don't think anyone looks up to him, and he aint a good friend.
I have not got a clue who he is and couldn't give a shit. I must just be laid back because nothing what anyone says on here bothers me like it seems it does to alot of you. If a can learn something from all you guys, (which is ultimatly why I'm here) then thats a bonus, but the rest of it, well why sit and get all worked up about what someone says, that you don't even know, and does not know you.
