Way more handy than loads of hardware. This isn't a studio, it is a command centre.

Sweet jesssseee man, this is gorgeous setup, brilliant layout and easy to control - AWESOME!!!!

Cheers

Just a sample of truths you will find within these pages . . .

Is it proper for a slave to greet a Free Person with the word Tal? - Yes

Did a serving slave ever hold a vessel to her breast for "three beats a slave's heart"? - No

Is it true a female Physician is not admitted to full practice until she has borne two children? - Yes

Did a slave, preparing for a serve, ever 'sweeten the vessel' before serving it? - No!

"On Gor, incidentally, chairs have special significance, and do not often occur in private dwellings. They tend to be reserved for significant personages, such as administrators and judges."
Priest-Kings of Gor Book 3 Page 45

All this and other non-fascinating shit here!

I wanta hear some sexy tunage outa this, and soon. Is this for your classical / score works or are you going to be doing EDM again? I say this as I thought you'd stopped making EDM a few years back.

not really genre specific. The vertical monitors help with reading scores which is why I switched from horizontal a few years back as you can see all the instruments this way without having to scroll. I don't make EDM anymore but I still use alot of synth work and production stuff I learned while making EDM. I don't really mix anymore. I just do rough tracks and it either gets rerecorded or just haven the engineers mix the tracks when things are done. MOre a question of time than ability.

Hahaha...I can't believe that some people actually live their lives as Goreans. If you've every played the MMO Second Life, it's rammed full of the nutters. They've even got their own dating website:

http://goreanpersonals.net/

Here's some more wisdom, just for you:

"They are different men. They are not earthlings. They are Goreans. They are strong, they are hard, and they will conquer you. For a man of earth, you might never be a woman. For a man of Gor, I assure you, my dear, sooner or later you will be."

man you are living in the past lol, do you want to make music or do you want to run a museum? dont u see that m4bs studio is how stuff is suppose to be now? "ill stick to analog man, its best", lol. sorry i must make fun of it.

id rotate the two screens in the middle though putting them above each other to atleast have something in the center where main stuff is. this setup would fuck up my neck as it is now.

richie, how does the iPad intergrate with a Mac? can i use it as a touch screen for OSX? id love to connect only two ipads to my macbook pro (with lid closed) only (i dont need big screen), controlling the whole OSX but i dont know if that works?

would it work as Remote Desktop so i could do it all wirelessly over the wlan? this would solve my cable issues too. ive thought about start trek emidiatly when seeing your pic lol. awesome.

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Feb-01-2011 16:43:

yup. I went to bed last night and we watched a movie just streaming of my computer basically streams your computer screen and sound at a lower resolution. I can also run big apps on my computer and have the output on the screen lying in bed. I don't like gimmicks but the ipad is really cool and the apps are so damn cheap but so many people buy them that there is actually money in development. Not to mention they are rather cheap.

touchosc is great tho as it is independent of the actual protocol. You can use it with midi, or create key macros for other programs like photoshop.

As far as the neck strain, the top of the monitor is a little lower than head level actually it is right at my ears which is then flush with my monitors which are right beside. so you are always looking down and your spine is aligned. You start getting strain when you have to tilt your head which you tend to do when looking up put not really down.

Posted by Zak McKracken on Feb-01-2011 16:49:

i dont want it for apps and shit, but as a interface against the mac somehow. could i split the screen over two iPads making one default? and actually launch ableton clips from finger instead of mouse/controller? this is interesting. id make a cockpit with three ipads in a 45 degree angle, hiding everything else. and maybe a keyboard, mouse, magictrackpad, midipaino beneath. think im buying one just to experiment around a little.

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Feb-01-2011 16:50:

yes. And remember that the ipad is still in its first year. It really is a cool tool. My girlfriend got hers first instead of a laptop and I was so impressed that I had to one. Then I got another one and I will be getting 1 more.

Posted by Zak McKracken on Feb-01-2011 16:51:

i think this is the only way trance will be good again, when the artists pretend to be running a spaceship, like they did in the early 90s. lol. suddenly wanted to make psytrance again now.

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Feb-01-2011 16:56:

it does take a bit of work to set everything up however. But once you have a template, you can really fly. There really is no reason for hardware or at least the sort of hardware that people justify because it is more hands on.

Posted by Zak McKracken on Feb-01-2011 17:00:

what im trying to find out is if i can use the iPad as the main monitor on my macbook (closed lid), with touch compatibility and instant reaction (when connected through usb of course). also one more thing. can i listen to music and surf the web at the same time when using the iPad alone? multitasking so to say. oh and another thing, does it have iChat? i need that. fuck why cant just macbook pro be touch instead. it doesnt feel like the future yet. im almost 30 years, its about fucking time something happens.

Seriously, some hardware synths has their own sound, like for example a Moog or a Virus, if you want that exact sound you need those synths.

you didn't read the sentence properly.

How about you explain to us exactly what we should be using and why. Also, don't forget to explain to us exactly what types of music we should be making and how we should be using our resources to improve our skills, whether it be in producing or performing. And don't forget to explain to us exactly why you are qualified to determine what other people should be using in their studio, or in their live setup for that matter.

Posted by Kysora on Feb-01-2011 19:17:

Who are you to tell him how to tell us how to make music? Get over yourself Cryo.
