I remember seeing Deadmau5 at Wetbar and just kind of wandering up to him and now he's selling out the Tabernacle and Above and Beyond are playing there. Times are changing I guess.

I doubt I will make it to this since I've seen them before in much more personable settings and know it's gonna be a mad house.

All of that seemed to change when eleven50 became Opera. The days of being right by the DJ were gone, except occasionally when Ferry came to town, cause it seemed like he always required the booth to be lower.

Paul Van Dyk, Tiesto, Deadmau5, and Swedish house mafia at Phillips arena?

Posted by DJRYAN on Feb-19-2011 00:40:

Well rumor has it DeadMau5 is already slated to come back in September to perform is live show like before. Which, might I add was incredibly the most EPIC show I've ever been to. I'm trying to think of who else might it be and the only act/dj that is of any ultra notority would have to be Daft Punk of Underworld. Those would be my picks.

Posted by amberella06 on Feb-19-2011 01:09:

Yeah, Daft Punk would def. blow me away.

It's really the only thing I would think is that extraordinary. That would be epic

Well, I know Daft Punk is one of a few acts that by name alone will get me really pumped.

That's just me personally. But like I said a couple of times already, I'm a little bit jaded...I've seen just about everyone I've really wanted to see.

Posted by romz on Feb-19-2011 07:36:

Swedish House Mafia or Armin van Buuren @ tabby is my guess.

Posted by DJRYAN on Feb-21-2011 03:40:

Really the quality of shows that Liquified's bringing in I really wouldn't be disappointed with anyone well except for Justin Beiber or Britney Spears. Crossover? Tommy Lee, FatBoySlim. Yea, I think he knows what's up. We wouldn't get anything less than what's hot. Daft Punk and/or Underworld- we're dreaming.

I can tell you that Daft Punk has turned down gigs paying them hundreds of thousands of dollars in the US.

An Atlanta date is not in their future

I'm not holding out hope for them. I know they don't tour much, and Atlanta wouldn't even be on their peripheries when they do tour. I was merely stating that they are one of very few performers that could be deemed "biggest Liquified announcement ever on the East Coast, no over hype involved" for me. Haven't really thought about who else could get me really pumped actually. But I'm sure there's some other acts out there, that are probably as unrealistic that I just can't think of them, that would also make me cum in my pants.

PvD, AvB, Deadmau5...they would be a great show obviously. But, been there, done that. Not exactly worthy of biggest Liquified Atlanta event status.

I'm with you. There are some artists that are great and all, but I've seen most the big ones and there is not much I would consider epic. A&B are great and all, but I wouldn't consider that epic. Biggest announcement ever is going to be hard to live up to for most of us on here, because I think a lot of us are jaded. I think a lineup of 2 or 3 huge names or someone like Daft Punk would be the only thing that would be epic to us.

He said "On the East Coast", so I doubt it's going to be Armin Only or a massive or something like that, cause I'm pretty sure their west coast arm hasn't done anything like that, since Insomniac has those types of events on lockdown.

I'm not trying to be negative, I'm sure whatever it is will be a big deal, but probably more of a big deal in a "holy crap this is costing us a lot more than our normal gigs" kind of way.

Also: PVD, Tiesto, Deadmau5, and Swedish House Mafia at Philips? That just doesn't sound right. I'll even set aside my musical taste for a minute (not a fan of Tiesto's new sound, Deadmau5, or SHM), but you should have acts that go together.

So, like... Christopher Lawrence, John 00 Fleming, and Infected Mushroom. (not my thing, but the psy fans would go nuts)

Gareth Emery, Markus Schulz, and Ferry Corsten

Cosmic Gate, Aly & Fila, Simon Patterson

etc.

Swedish House Mafia has the "One Night Only" tour that brings in a lot of other names with it.

An Armin Only would be amazing, but holding up my hopes for that. Although, if it did happen, I would buy a ticket in 0.1 secs.

Christopher Lawrence would be AMAZING! Or Fleming & Lawrence as they are now djing together.

Yeah, they did a show together at Avalon here in LA (that Liquified co-promoted) and it was a huge hit. I missed it because I was at Solarstone that night (I like lower bpm stuff), but I heard it was awesome.

Posted by DJRYAN on Feb-25-2011 06:24:

I'd be down for Cosmic Gate, Aly & Fila, Simon Patterson
or an extended epic Ferry Corsten Set!!

But I'll update my guess and say- ATB

nothing about Daft Punk makes sense to me. half a million $ plus for a couple of guys that edit disco records...

there are far too many people out there who are doing things like building and developing cutting edge hardware/software who don't make nearly that much in one year, much less one show.

Just confirmed Ferry Corsten for Friday may 27th. Had to do Opera this time around due to quad already being booked.
