Yeah I didn't see a single fight all night long. The attitude at a bills game is a million times worse. I was amazed at how well everything was run. Great night all around. It is sad that GSP is at a point where he defeats some guy who hasn't lost in over 6 years, who has only been stopped ONCE 11 years ago and we find fault in his performance.

From my vantage point, I thought GSP simply coasted through and did everything he could to win without being subjected to punishment. To later find out he was basically blinded in his left eye before the fight was even at the halfway point explains why.

I have no doubt whoever he faces next he'll come in with an extremely aggressive game plan to make up for this extremely unentertaining fight.

dude, he's cleaned out his weight class. People are going to continue to ask 'how good is he?' until he steps up and tries to hold multiple belts. It's how it's worked in boxing all along, MMA is no different.

I think Anderson will be next at a catch weight

Posted by SniFFleS on May-02-2011 23:35:

Ya, Nick Diaz will be next.

To bad GSP will lay and pray this one, no way he can stand with Nick. Nick has greats jitz, hopefully they will bring in Sonnen again for the camp to practice his TDD.

Posted by VDub on May-02-2011 23:51:

Yes I heard Nick was considering getting into boxing...

I'd love this fight just to see GSP do some grappling again...

I just hope Diaz gets thrown around like his bro did on Saturday. Lol

Ya I heard boxing too, but I think Nick will take the GSP fight if they unify the titles...

Nate has to move to lightweight, just not strong enough for welterweight.... especially with guys like Nate Marquarte going to welterweight.

Name ONE fighter Diaz has fought who would be in the top 10 GSP has fought...and don't give me Gomi, that was 6 years ago. I hope to god they don't make this match up. GSP would walk through him no problem. The only reason they make it is because people bought into they hype of a C fighter beating up on a bunch of other C- fighters.

Posted by VDub on May-04-2011 16:00:

Im not going to disagree with you there but he's a champion in Strikeforce and in the same weight class...

Who else are they going to put with him??

all i have to say is that Toronto has the worst sports crowd of all time. All of those people and no one knew how to cheer or put ambiance in the place. Its part of the show guys, don't sit on your hands...had this been in montreal you would all be deaf this week.

Other than the so so fights and the horrible crowd, they pulled off the big show quite well and everything that was in their power went smoothly. If it comes back to TO you can bet on the ACC i think.

Koscheck lied on Daley for 3 rounds to get a title shot..... Diaz just finished Daley in 1 round.

WHHHHHAAAAAA!?!?!? the "so so fights"!??!!!?!?!?!? one fight ends with a spinning back fist, another with an absolutely insane front kick only seen once before in the ufc, another has one of the best 5th round comebacks of all time, crazy submissions by two other fighters, a 20 second first round KO...the list goes on and on. Can you please explain what else you wanted? Have you seen a UFC card before? Please name ONE card that had better finishes that that. As far as the crowd goes I am not sure where you were sitting but it was louder in there when Hominick made his comeback than either of the montreal shows I was at. The only difference was the main card where there wasn't the hatred for GSP's opponent that montreal had with Koscheck and Serra. I mean both really let the french have it in the pre fight buildup. Nobody was bad mouthing GSP this time or Toronto.

Doesn't really answer my question. Daley is not a top 10 fighters. Name one guy Diaz has beaten that could beat anyone in GSP's last 10 fights.

i've been to every ufc in montreal and the one in toronto.

sorry, you guys suck as fans, it has nothing to do with hatred. You eat pizza with a knife and fork i bet.

how much did you pay for your ticket?

Only neanderthals wouldn't eat pizza with a knife and fork.

I bet you eat poutine in a bowl.

I tried standing and cheering from my 10th row octagon side seat (don't ask lol) and was promptly told by security to sit down. The whole area WANTED to go apeshit, but simply couldn't due to the ridiculous restrictions of staying in your seats.

It wasn't the fans - it was the venue. Next one will be at the ACC - and hopefully with an Aldo / Hominic rematch - which will be every bit as loud as MTL w/ GSP.

I'm reasonably confident in picking Daley to KO Serra, Hughes and probably Hardy too. so there's three guys

to be fair, Diaz' win over Gomi was only 4 years ago (not 6), though it was at 160but a solid win nonetheless. speaking of lighter weights, I'd be curious to see Noons in the UFC at 155 (or 145) too.

but yesthere's no question Diaz has been facing a lower tier of competition in SF and elsewhere in recent years. He definitely needs to move over to UFC if we are to talk about rankings. While I also don't see him as a major threat to GSP, the same can be said of virtually the entire 170 division. I'd still like to see the fight.

regardless of his chances against GSP, there are still plenty of compelling matches to make, and a rematch with Diego would be a good start. who wouldn't want to see Diaz vs. Penn at 170??? that has 'fight of the night' written all over it.

The crowd sounded dead when GSP came in, I was quite shocked. During his last Montreal entrance, you could feel the crowd. The anticipation, the support was amazing...in Montreal. I was really disappointed by the fans in Toronto during that moment. Maybe it was the acoustics? Probably not.

You could say the exact same thing about koscheck and hardy. They got title shots though. Diaz is way more complete then either of them. Guess it domt matter though unless they could fight in Japan or something.

In the words of Desidel off here: Boronto. lol Fucking security, yeah we'll let you have your sporting event but you have to sit down shut up and quiet like a fucking library. BAH.

I'm thinking of checking out TFC again with an amazing atmosphere and crowd with a few pints of Carl in me. Dreading the security bullshit though in this damned city. I hope it hasn't turned into that...

when a real sport like wrestling was in skydome (don't ask why i was there) the place was bananas. I guess no steel chair = no cheering?

Didn't know the no cheering rule jeff, we watched the show from a box and were yelling the whole time and heckling torontonians between fights like your typical superior frog.
