Ed - I've just come online and seen you had something - but now it's removed so I'm assuming you have taken down for now.

Karl (NEM) and I are altering the main last drop as per label request as they wanted the break gnarling synth as part of the main drop hook, against my wishes!

I made a short demo which was pretty much some half-assed fucking around in my Reason 5 upgrade. It's honestly the worst thing I've ever put up. I fully cop to it being a bit of humorous experimentation but, humorously intended or not, it demonstrated too much of an incompetence that I couldn't possibly sleep with. I'll do better.

Regardless, sorry about that executive production bit, there. I'll try and put up something soon, which demonstrates I'm actually taking it seriously.

And, Raphie: I'm still going to kick your ass!

Oh, that's sadistic.

Thinking of Richard's ears - not my descending blip of an ego.

(Looking forward to it.)

Ok, here we go, not finished yet but a bit further (and deeeper)

YYYOOooouuu FFFiiiinnnkkk Iiiiii'mmmm Fuuunnnniiiii? <--- Nice Josh Winkesque touch, there.

Very nice sound, too.

Not yet fully there but lets say 70% (besides the arrangement itself)

i think the breakdown is too long for a track of this kind but looks superb apart from that.

I'm into this but i've the flu and i am not very motivated to accomplish, but i hope in a week is finished or almost finished.I am afraid i'm mixing at very low levels though must be the headache.

Posted by Von Pistol on Mar-08-2011 16:51:

yo,

not mastered or even nearly finished. but i could use some critical comments on what to improve

also the last part at around 2:30 wasnt supposed to be in there. its just a concept i forgot to cut out.

HAD TO UPDATE THE DROPS. At same time made whole track more powerful - things like kick n snare.

Thought I better show you in case this had an iumpact on the remixes.

Here it is now,

Dirtbox Divas Funnybad NEW by Dirtbox Divas

VON PISTOL - yes still very much interested in remixes as the labels asked us if we had any so we are keen to present them with some.

well i just put up new monitors and got a day to myself, i think i'll give this a whirl and see if i can come up with anything good. if i do ill be sure to send it your way

I'm digging that new version Richard. Those strings near the end make it very cool.

I'm actually having a bit of trouble remixing this. Got the basic structure laid out, made the percussion sections and stuff but not sure what to add to it.

I did manage to recreate the plonks though on albino
I'll just keep plodding away at it though, kinda fun track to play with.

rich, i totally preferred the old version, goodluck on the release though

Thanks - the biggest label interested wanted the drops changed and in thier terms more bangin and full on, so we kinda thought we'd go with thier advice.

Posted by Von Pistol on Mar-10-2011 18:35:

sweet. i will keep working at it then.

although i dont have a mastering program of any kind so i cant master the song what so ever. i suppose i just wanted the practice.

i like the new version of your song better Richard. progression is nicer and the heavy saw does add a nice touch.

ugh 1st version was better... those supersaws don't fit at all in the track , this is way i hate labels and how they ruined edm, instead of signing good music they sign only predictable and generic music, no risk, top 1 - 100 beatport are the same track with different melodies and vocals.

PS: I'm still working on the percussion.

Posted by Raphie on Mar-12-2011 09:29:

Nice one, very anthem feel, i can imagine a bad ass rapper spitting his rhymes on top of this.

Thanks guys!! I actually have some ideas for what I want to do to the bass line and the percussion. I agree with you Richard, I think the bass needs to groove a bit better.

BAMMMM!!!!!!

Dirbox Divas - Funnybad (Seandroid Remix) by Seandroid

=D

Great fun track Seandroid, really enjoyed the 'nasty' fun break.

O
I'm only listening on little pc speakers so I can't judge the mix - although the hihats are quite sizzling here!

As I say great track, but I think you can squeeze a little more out of the drop - if you want to that is - I'm imagining more space there say without many / any hats, but a massive offset hitech wierd tom - sorry if you think I'm cheeky mate!! Do it your way though as I have crap taste and could be wrong.

Cheers, will be submitting to the label.
