Agreed.

If this happened in Pickering's nuclear plant, the entire city of Toronto & GTA will be evacuated

FLASH: Japan's nuclear safety agency says Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Plant No. 3 reactor's emergency cooling system not functioning

I checked the Chernobyl reactor that went kaboom was
quote:
running at a low power, between >700 MW & 800 MW
, while the damaged reactor in Japan is 460 MW. What is interesting they were planing to build two more reactors before the end of the decade.

Al Jazeera (Japan Tsunami)
Pretty good link to follow everything.

Back in 1999 Japan also had a nuclear disaster... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokaimura_nuclear_accident

You need to get some new friends Where did you those updates from?

How much more 'payback' do these heartless and inhumane shits want? Did Hiroshima and Nagasaki not result in enough death and destruction? Expect a hissy fit if you asked them what 9/11 was God's payback for. By the way, I wonder how many Japanese-made products they own

Posted by Rodrico on Mar-12-2011 21:46:

I was contemplating writing this for my status the morning of the Tsunami, but thought it was maybe a bit too much...
"Here I am complaining about wet snow and cold mornings when I go to work, I should consider myself lucky I didnt have to SWIM to work...gg Japan."

Man, those people are fucked, none of them were even alive for WW2...lol.

Posted by Abercrombie on Mar-12-2011 22:23:

Another headline no one will read is "Japan's quake readiness, advanced architecture and warning systems saves thousands of human lives"

Posted by jester on Mar-12-2011 22:26:

AFP says the operator of the Fukushima nuclear power plant, where a second reactor system is overheating, says there is a risk of a second explosion. We'll keep you updated right here.

update: Trying to cool #3 has failed.

I did some digging up, the bombing of Hiroshima would have equalled a 6.0 (15 kiloton), while this earthquake was 8.9 (335 megaton) and if I did the math correctly, it is like 22000+ Hiroshima's. It is like comparing Apple's to Orange's but you can see how big the difference is.

They weren't friends. That picture was posted in another forum. I have no idea who any of them are, but other people looked some of them up and some had deleted their accounts due to the number of death threats they received

100 kms radius evacuation will indeed cover most of Toronto and the GTA

North York to Pickering is 30 kms

Mississauga to Pickering is 63 kms
