-- JOOF's thoughts on the scene

Hey John long time listener & fan. Your essential mix last year was great.I've been out of the trance scene for a while but when I have a thirst for new trance I always trust the JOOF label to still put out quality releases. Haters are gonna hate for all kinds of reasons. It's good to see it doesn't have a negative effect on you. Keep on truckin'

Woah
I'm speechless. Thanks for ruining my day SandLeaper
People shouldn't pass that up. I also like how they age limit is 25.
Thanks for being kind to me here...phheww!
It's nice chatting you all here, makes me feel a little closer to you all. Also great to have a chat/debate as it helps see your view from the other side of the fence.
Answer some of you questions:
1) Oliver Lieb
Good news he's back making music again. He will release these on a new label he's setting up, they should be ready pretty soon. So this is exciting news. He sounds refreshed from his break.
2) System J
I feel your pain too, frustrating industries we're in
Can you help me find those underground events in the North? I love these type of clubs and have been working closely with many across the World. I'd rather play to a room full of people who understand the music than a huge room that doesn't. Promoter presume fee's will be too much, but are pleasantly surprised when we reach out a hand to help them.
In fact if any of you can help me find these clubs across the World, I'll be there!
2) Pzk
You nailed it right there. For a long time I've been saying download prices have been creeping up. They worked at the beginning because they used to be cheap. If they keep them cheap I too think it will make a big difference with people getting the track from a shop, rather than all the hassle of having to find it on Torrent sites (correct file quality etc)
Fuck Yeah!Exciting news, thanks for the info Oliver Lieb can't wait;its great to see you connect with the trancers here John. Another question I had for you is; are you doing a US Tour in the near future?Back in July 2004 I missed you at Washington DC Cubik @ Nation with Astral Projection and regret it so much. I was there earlier to see a sub-par Tiesto set and kick my ass everytime I look at the flyer I still have. Would you be coming around Chicago or even somewhere in Wisconsin. There is a nice underground scene in Milwaukee and Madison. Speaking of the old flyer it shows how long you have stay true to yourself and haven't strayed too far from your style.

But I tell you this working for a distributor in 2004 was pretty fucking hard. People had to find new clients when there were like 10 record stores going out of business every week! |

| Originally posted by Domesticated I wouldn't get excited about this. His most recent releases were 2008, and he was producing glitchy minimal. Unless you can confirm that the new label would be trance-oriented? |
His last releases like 'Jesus Ist Da' and 'Papel' were better than a lot of stuff at the times. A better note to leave on instead of just trendfollowing trance; even though he produced minimal
the Maschine label never look to serious anyways; releases dwindled every year since '06

Is the JOOF label 100% digital?

I've just spent the last 6 or so hours sorting and organizing over roughly 3000 vinyl into some sort of assemblance.
A very therapeutic and rewarding process.
Yet another reason for me personally why all the digital shit seems so cold and clinical in comparison.
Sifting through and sorting records.......bliss
Sifting through folders on computer.......piss
saw JOOF at Avalon here in LA alongside Christopher Lawrence. f*in bangin
guys, could you post 1 track from this dude j00f that I might like?
airwave remix is cheating
I personally think that some of Johns best productions are some of his remixes.
Some of my favourites:
