i fucking love these threads
edit:
wrong thread but applies all the same, wierd
ta is going downhill ever since obama got elected
Whether or not you believe CO2 emissions have a direct result in climate change, there is no denying that the recent (last 50 years) increases in CO2 emissions has caused the pH level to decrease in the ocean which destroys marine life and eco-systems.
This is fact and cannot be disputed through disbelief.
Also, the technologies that emit CO2 cause pollution on unprecedented levels. There's no denying that we would have a healthier world by investing in cleaner technologies. The air quality is only getting worse and it does affect our biological systems, especially infants in their development and pregnant mothers.
Climate change will always have its cynics, but I think the discussion should move to topics concerning how our technologies are really affecting the planet. I personally think climate change is a waste of time because the disbelief and politics poisons the debate.
I think it's simple; our current way of doing things is unsustainable. If you disagree, I would love to hear your input concerning topics like trash, acidification of the ocean, air quality, etc.
Oh, one last thing, if you really think that the increase in CO2 emissions has no adverse affect on the planet, you probably failed high school chemistry and don't know shit science.

If we achieved a 10 degree increase in mean temps over a couple of months, eco systems everywhere would be destroyed. Guess what? We rely on eco systems. |

| Originally posted by Nrg2Nfinit im pretty sure life persisted 500 million years ago and carbon levels were unimaginably higher. |

| Originally posted by Nrg2Nfinit The point is that carbon emissions are not a simple linear correlation to temperature. |

| Originally posted by Nrg2Nfinit It's odd that i'm even having this conversation with you, the guy who is all anti conspiracy theory, now taking about raising the mean temperature of earth by 10 degrees with these levels of carbon emissions. Irony at its best. |
I think you need a meteor to hit your face.
Because you've completely missed my point from the beginning.
climate change is an important subject for scientists because when people are scared of it more jobs are created and they get paid!

Go and read my post on the acidification of the ocean and the quick destruction we are currently witnessing of marine eco-systems directly caused by the high C02 emissions. |
Nrg2Nfinit digging another one of his holes. I wonder how long it will take him to give up and start backpedalling this time?
i think i've made my point clear from the beginning of this thread. No need to reiterate it several times. If anyone thinks AGW will end up destroying the life on this planet, they clearly don't understand the history and persistence of life, even through the quickest and most drastic changes.

I am not denying the change (I have clearly stated this from the beginning of the thread). I am denying the speculation based on the changes and the end result.
And for system J, i am reiterating the point i've made from the beginning of the thread. Those who are arguing against me are arguing against that sole premise.

| Originally posted by Nrg2Nfinit No i never said that, you aren't reading what i wrote. Scientists aren't the ones proclaiming that the Himalayas are going to melt by 2035. Remember that. scientists are the ones that make an analysis on what has already occurred. |

I prefer the term "climate improvement."
I personally believe Global Warming to be a myth. Besides, when it gets too hot, the polar ice caps will met decreasing the amount salt in our oceans ceasing the gulf stream that runs between America and Europe thus changing Europe's climate inducing a deep freeze and jetting us into a new ice age. Which consequently will cool down our planet and counteract the fluctuating climate.
