The only reason he says all that shit about his wife and his mum and stuff is to get popular, its different so ppl think "this is good". He's a money making "rapper" some of his songs are cool, i must addmit.

I'm not much for today's rap scene and after seening '8 Mile' I have a different opinion about him.
I think he understands what people want to hear and hey, being controversial sells...just look at what it's done for Madonna.
It's part business and part of who he is.
It's a smart music business move being coated by the great corporate machine to punch out the bucks...
It's part of who he is because rapping is his bag, and he's good at it.

At least I can stomach his stuff...

eminem found commercial success without buying in to the whole big-blingin, thug-4-life image. that alone deserves major props. everyone on the board is mad at his "nobody listens to techno" line. hahaha.... that kind of reaction is exactly what made him rich. he's a genius.

eminem writes his own lyrics AND produces his own tracks. if that's what you called manufactured, then what do you call britney?? i don't know the guy personally, but i do believe that he made it to the big leagues with real talent and hard work.

ok, im pretty damn sure that most of you who hate eminem is because all you ever heard from him was all his shitty commerical songs like "slim shady" and "without me" on the radios and MTV. I hate those myself.

I Gotta admit that he got some shitty songs but he also got a lot of SERIOUS REAL LIFE SHIT THAT HE RAPPED ABOUT.

I.E: Sing for the Moment, Hailie's song, Cleanin' out my closet, stan.
etc.

So after yall heard those songs, u tell yourself "wtf is this? some kinda joke" well i bet 90% of you that hate eminem dont know jack shit about him all u know is that he raps about killing his wife or whatever.

I do agree that he got some issues but on the other hand I think this guy is one of a kind MC. He got powerful lyrical skills that stands out of the rest of the crowd.

His skills improved vastly in his new album "the eminem show". Songs like Hailie's song is some damn serious stuff. I respect the guy just for that one song on that album but he got a few others on that album that really make sense.

I'd choose eminem all those heavy metal bullshit (i.e slipknot) and that fuckin fagget marilyn manson.

I'd choose over all those cheezy cant rap artists like p diddy.

so in conclusion: Eminem for sure got some real skills but also got some serious stupid issues to deal with. I'm for him though coz of the real shit that he raps about not his bullshit controversial (i.e hating techno and disco)

I admire his skill as an MC, I also admire his ability to tell it like it is... look at "The Way I Am" off of the Marshall Mathers LP

He's saying what most artists are too weak to say, he just wants to make music, he doesn't want that kind of fame.

Now I agree he could tone it down a bit, but then it wouldn't have the same effect.

K i think Eminem is pretty poor as a rapper. Most i get out of him is a chuckle. I used to be into rap before i got into electronic music and there is much better more talented less obscene rappers out there. I think Eminem is the Perfect representation of american pop. A guy who has more money than he knows what to do with pretending to be white trash for show running around grabbing his nuts swearing making a killing off music which took no talent to make. I could freestyle as well as he raps it aint hard to rap when you drop the "F" word every 3 words. As for his lyrics being about his life most of that is shit, it's his show buiseness facade, he never murdered his babys momma or any of that shit. I think the most hilarious part of it all is he sits bitching about how he has so many fans and they love him for it. he says shit like no i wont sign your autograph call me an asshole im glad. yadda yadda. Is that how to appeal to americans, tell them to fuck off? Seems brittish people do that plenty why dont we buy stuff from them more often?? well thats my two cents haha EminEm suxors. And his beats are shite compared to the underground rappers as well as his message, in Hip Hop underground is much better it still has the soul....

All these bias views from people who prolly have the slightest interest in rap, not that theres nething wrong with that, to each his own. Emenim is the best lyricist to grace the hip hop world, at this point in time, the only reason most of u are dissing the man is because he said that comment about techno, other than that u have no clue about wat ure talking about. All these attacks on Emenim's character and hes a tool of the govt, and a hypocrite, WTF ARE U talking about that makes no sense wat so ever. I f nething he opposes the govt., i mean if u KNEW wat u were talking about u would know that the govt. and Emenim are bitter adversaries. I agree. I dont feel sorry for him though. Nobody is forcing him to do anything. I also can't stand any group or individual who gets successful off of offending others or how higb their shock value is. It gisgusts me.

I think he's got a unique talent. However, his single releases are pretty dire, commercial efforts.

When he came on the scene he was something different (a white rapper). The problem is he hasnt changed very much since then. How many songs can you write about hating your mom & wife, loving your daughter and being Slim Shady??

The guy needs some fresh ideas for his next album.

Also his attitude sucks. I hate it when famous people think they need to have this aura of unapproachability and act like a complete arsehole in interviews etc. Accept your fame and respect the people who put you there (a bit hypocritical considering the lyrics in Stan!)

I'm open-minded and I do not have anything against hip hop but eminem just disses his mom and other people in a very primitive way...to me eminem's style is very poor.

I don't know if anyone understands what I mean, but I'm pretty sure, that you guys just don't like him cos: He uses bad words, dirty lyrics (yes, sick lyrics, too), crazy lyrics and lyrics that doesn't make sense.
