Damnit, I was at work during the good part. Thanks for the screen-caps though, JBJ. They need to be circulated to the other forums where Jon is infamous.

Also, I got this message from a certain well-respected trance DJ I won't name:

P.S. I've just been pointed to Jon the Dentist posts on TA, dam that guy really is a nuisance. When he has his 5 mins of fame years ago he was the biggest pain in the arse back then, full of himself and constantly upset people. Looks like he hasn't changed. It's his attitude that killed off his career.

Bit of an insight into why Jon actually stopped DJing and got a real job.

(Reposted here so Jonny can read it himself.)

Haha, the newest comment on the most popular JTD track on YouTube is:
quote:
great tune.....shame John the Dentist is a **** in real life.

From a month ago, though, so unconnected with this latest stuff.

Such a ridiculously persistent pattern in how this guy sabotages himself, professionally. He veers way off the reservation, burns bridges seemingly made out of concrete, and has lost more plots than Sex in the City 2. It's surrealistic to see this much fucked-up in one individual. If it were an episode of M*A*S*H, he wouldn't just be Major Frank Burns, whose own insanity seems to be exaggerated in comparison to his real-world equivalents. Jon the Dentist would the amalgamation of Burns and Major Margaret Houlihan; an outright personification of their persistent folie deux that is only capable of stepping on the end of a rake to find its pole meeting squarely with his face.

i made an alt on facebook and messaged pics of my cock to his wife with "hi john" written on a piece of paper beside it.

lololol

See, Jon? You're supposed to be making MASH references, not girl DJ alts, at your age! Eddie knows how it's done.

I don't even think his old music is any good. After seeing some of those nostalgic ex-ravers on other boards waxing lyrical about his productions, I went on Youtube and had a listen. Even the older trance stuff sounds really weak to me. Everyone seems to love Pyramid, for example, but it's fucking rubbish. We moan about web labels and a lack of quality control these days, but 15 years ago utterly average stuff like that still got signed, and even managed to get played out enough to be considered a classic by someone or other.

I noticed that too and listened to the examples that were posted. It's the sort of music which I thought was so irritating when I heard it in clubs that, if I were alone, I'd walk out on it inside of three minutes. It certainly raised the bar from L.A. Style's "James Brown is Dead", which is honestly what it reminds me of, but it's not capable of living up to the hype Jon attempted to conjure with his side-lecture about how working in a properly fitted studio, opposed to a laptop, satisfies some distinction between artist and wannabe.

By the way Jon, just in case you actually believe we "bought into" your little trick, you should have a read of this thread: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...&pagenumber=927

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a huge sucker for old school Trance, so I was afraid I was going to like Pyramid, but holy fuck this song is terrible.

Posted by bas on Aug-12-2011 04:49:

Wow! He was having a full on conversation with himself?!

Posted by Lews on Aug-12-2011 05:02:

Definitely going down in the archives as one of the worst meltdowns.

OMG hahahahahahah

When you guys mentioned it last night, I assumed that the jonthedentist thing happened a couple years ago. Had no idea it was going on.
Fuckin' pure gold.

How did you hacked into his computer?

Posted by Ian on Aug-12-2011 08:59:

for all the shit around him, Agnelli & Nelson made a good job of remixing global phases in 2003/4 ish.

What happened to Steve Angello?

Posted by shaw on Aug-12-2011 14:21:

He got too fat for pants with normal levels of elasticity, grew a ponytail, and started recording his mixes ahead of time.

Posted by srussell0018 on Aug-12-2011 14:24:

aka he got wildly successful

Posted by Taipan on Aug-12-2011 14:27:

haha yea, but what about the TA butthurt part? Any links?

Posted by srussell0018 on Aug-12-2011 14:41:

Sadly I missed that one and the DAVE DRESDEN ones, but there were a couple funny Deadmau5 ones a year or so ago.
