I can't help but think that they didn't ventilate the place knowing damn well people paid $50-60 for this party so they weren't going to leave, forcing them to buy more drinks to increase revenue. I've never seen the downstairs area so chilly and the dance floor so hot.. at around 7:30 they finally started up the AC and it got comfortable again, but it didn't make sense.

Dance floor was a complete mess because of all the extra drinks being served, almost sprained my ankle from a vitamin water bottle.

hmmmm, overpack the place, spread the dancefloor out to the rest of the building, make more money on drinks, etc. Cuz we both did Carlo on Fri and it was perfect in there. I wish I had done the same as devnull and stayed at PE longer and then left this gig earlier too. Hindsight is a bitch

You call Stereo hot on that night? You should of been @ Circus for Digweed two months ago... Now that was hot...

very true... but now w the new AC it makes quite a difference (it isn't perfect but I don't think you can get a perfect temperature in any sort of afterhours venue)

I agree, and there's many tricks to keep yourself cool @ Stereo. A) Get yourself a cup of ice and use them wisely . B) Go to the lower room, it had a very solid AC.

or c)show up in speedos and running shoes, nothing else.

Who wants to go to a club to hang out on the lower level? I think this strays away from the fact the club was grossly overpacked and too hot. Thank god Carl didn't bang it out like he used to do back in the day

I do have to wonder if Stereo occasionally cuts the AC to boost drink sales. The explanation / excuse that it was broken has come up many times there in my experience. I know bars do it too, even turn on the heat in the summer. While I think it's scummy, I understand why they do it. An afterhours where people are highly active is a different scenario though, and I think it's just plain negligent.

Again, I don't know whether it's intentional or not, but I wouldn't be surprised.

I'm pretty sure they do. Also you keep it hot and then keep it cool downstairs where ppl will eventually gravitate to, it then spreads out the cluster and thus you can fit more ppl in there.

It just made the Fri with Carlo that much better: fraction of the price, better set (imo) and better conditions all around.

In any case, I preferred the Stereo crowd those two nights much much more than the one for Digweed, in case anyone thinks I have an anti-Stereo agenda
