In the beginning, there was trance and on the face of trance, there was a void and it was formless. Oakenfold looked upon trance and said, "Let there be bass!"

"Southern Sun" with Carla Werner was first issued as a B-Side of "Ready Steady Go" until it was included on Tisto's In Search of Sunrise 3: Panama compilation with his own remix of the song. |

NYTribal4life! relax.
I think most tranceaddicts know who Paul is and for those who don't know, just like any music fans, one mix or one track or one remix could strike a cord anytime, and they will take Paul seriously.
For those who know him and expect a lot from him, his efforts since joining Armada and launching Planet Perfecto Radio Show, his performance on live shows when he is spinning underground (eg ASOT 500 and most others nowadays since he is trying to drive the goa/psy trance) would have appreciate his effort of making his 'lane' a trance one. For myself as a listener, is good when experience DJ like him show Armada or new trance listener that trance is not just vocal or monotonous instrumental, it can be psy, breaks, drum & base...(although this is not new for long time listeners, its good that Paul go back to champion that kind of sound)
So relax, I believe with an open mind tranceaddict already feel the change of effort or direction by Paul. Its just as many tranceaddicts are DJs, they have an ideal of trance (when it should be underground) should be and this is good!!
As for the interviews, casual listeners of his interviews have to get use to how he speaks, once you get pass that, you know that whether you like his music or not at the time, Paul is always Paul, & he shares great amount of details when being interviewed.
Hopefully Trance will continue to go this direction although slowly. I guess even Armin starts to realise variety in trance is needed. As he can't just change his sound and desert his loyal fans, Paul, the other Paul (van Dyk), Max Graham are on or distributed and exposed to Armada listeners. Its a win win for all listeners as their job is always to find a balance between today's trance sound and the more underground trance sound.
Regards,
Ed
