i think people who say the NFL is the worst sport ever never played football in their younger years in the playground, streets, or some random lot. i grew up playing and watching it hence why i love football.

Posted by shaw on Sep-27-2011 03:01:

I never went to a school with a football team (except division 3 for college), and it's still, hands-down, my favorite sport.

People who don't like sports at all (because they were never good at them) don't like football.

Posted by LAdazeNYnights on Sep-27-2011 03:20:

i played with friends as a kid, never competitively.
my high school was huge on football. went to state championship my senior year. i loved going to the games on dates with girls and such.
my college has no team.
the sport just doesn't do it for me at all. i love sports and follow quite a few (yes, mostly ones that i have played: soccer, tennis, and ski racing). i like watching golf on tv more than watching american football.

This here is America. There are two sports. Football and Nascar. And eating.

Football kicks ass. It always annoys me when people (especially soccer snobs) diss it. The strategy and brute force involved is all kinds of awesome.

Plus having only 16 games in the regular season, and only playing once a week, makes it so much more intense than baseball/basketball/etc. Every game counts.

I mean, I like baseball, and to a lesser extent basketball... but neither comes close to football (for me, anyway).

"I'm sorry."

I can't believe he joked about it again at the end

I missed that in the first viewing.

I feel that this sums up the Bears' season perfectly:

It pales in compnarison to rugby.

American Football players all wear padding. wtf is that about?

Did you see the RWC Quarter Finals? Aus vs. SA / NZ vs. Arg? That is REAL contact sport. AF players wouldn't last 2 seconds against rugby players.

This is why they wear pads:

Yeah, I'm sure Defensive linemen would be scared to death of rugby players.

I absolutely hate this comparison.
Rugby is a nice sport but as you said, is a CONTACT sport. NFL is about IMPACT, you can't make a high tackle in Rugby (like a chest tackle). NFL you can.

So stop this comparison right now. Different sports, different rules.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, best hard count in the game.

Posted by shaw on Oct-11-2011 16:36:

Lol @ people who took people other than Adrian Peterson first this year.

Fred Jackson, imo. #D3Represent

Glad to see Detroit doing well thus far. Really good for the city (especially considering the Tigers are also in the MLB playoffs).

Lets see if the Lions can keep it after the midpoint of the season though.

How about them 49ers over Tampa Bay... certainly didn't see that coming especially from SF.

Good to see Detroit doing well. Will be good to have them in the playoffs.

fuck Detriot.....i'm sick of this feel good story already....

nice to know that they will play a meaningful game on Turkey day though....

it would be the NFL's wet dream to have both GB and Detroit be undefeated going into that game
