The story is fairly straightforward but well constructed with no notable plot holes, and exposition and diegetic world building are neatly integrated into the narrative. I was a huge fan of this comic when I was a kid.

apparently Alex Garland wrote the script. win. gonna make a point to see this next time I feel like blowing 12 bux.

Alex Garland actually had a very big role in putting the film together. He was present on set and provided direction for the actors, and he was an integral part of the editing process as well.
