If anyone knows of any other event cancellations this weekend let me know so I can update the thread titles accordingly so people don't waste their time trying to make it out there.

Learning to be a bigger person (put aside your ego) is a tough thing to learn. It took me quite a while to learn this. Its not about being a pussy and stepping down, its about saying fuck it...its not worth fighting about petty bullshit/drama when there are far more serious things to be concerned with.

Haha, I just stop talking to those kinds of people, it sounds like they're the one that needs to grow up and chill the fuck out.

oh god. one thing i love about NY is that no one knows me. No midnight phone calls about coming to a brawl for support. No"hey, you looking at me?" to impress girls. All this freedom. i will never ever get into a fight. Nor allow myself to get pissed by other insults or ignorance. god, all those fighting back in MA i wonder how i made it.

i love walking away now. cheers to that. keep your cool guys.

Those who have met me know that i am jersey shore guy....

it was very depressing to walk into belmar yesterday and walk around what i liked to call my stomping grounds. Actually, Belmar, Manasquan, Point, Seaside, AC, and Long Branch were all my stomping grounds. I have spent many years partying in each area in my lifetime.

One of things i loved about my job was that it was sooo close to the beach, 13 minutes away from both Belmar, Squan and Point. Being so close to the beach, it was great to take extended lunch breaks.

Now with all the destruction that Sandy cause, I'm going to feel lost without it for awhile. I tried to absorb as much of the shore as i could and I am glad i did.

My heart goes out to my 4 co-workers and everyone else who lost everything from Sandy

i is sad now

i hope they have a fast recovery. i would be devastated if it happens to me.

Unless me, my loved ones/friends/family's life is physically threatened I don't give a shit about words. There is no point to words.

Now see, if you threaten with physical harm, good luck to you.

Anyway, this is by far the worst damage I have ever seen done by a hurricane/storm. Anywhere you go, there are trees, telephone poles down down on houses/cars, flooding etc. Its sad and I feel bad for all of those people affected. I (plus my immediate family/friends) were fortunate enough so nothing happened to us. Others haven't been so fortunate. I've been trying to help out as much as I can in my immediate area.

Tangible items, can be replaced with time. Lives of humans/pets cant...so condolences to all of those that lost somebody or a pet.

It's not the words themselves, but the character that generates. Life is too full of greatness and too short on time, it's a waste to spend the former with those that diminish the latter.

Another Sandy story, I lent my car to my friend who has a gig out in Detroit tomorrow, but I warned them about the gas situation and that I only had 1/4 tank. They said they never found a station and made it almost as far as Penn before running out. A trucker offered to sell them 5 gallons at $10 each.

been outta the loop for a while
i finally got tv back yesterday and wow iam finally starting to see some destruction pics and vids it is out of this world.

i see alot of people posting questions about the subways and such.
for those that dont know me i work for the mta repairing the subways, now iam no spokes man for them i am just here to tell you what i know.

once power is restored in lower manhattan the N & Q trains can ride over the bridge again, to finally transport people from bk to manhattan.

i wish i had better news about people who take the R train. the tube connecting bk to manhattan is flooded. i seen whitehall/south ferry station with my own eyes and the amount of water in there is beyond anything i though could ever happen.

there are a few other stations down there with the same problem. i also heard word of maybe them opening up the #2 train from bk to manhattan but dont quote me.

i have been working crazy hours at work trying to help out as much as i can
i worked sunday at 8pm all the way to tuesday 12 noon, followed by 12-16 hour shifts everyday after that.
i hope over the weekend and by early next week most subway service will be back to somewhat normal situations, but there is still some places in lower manhattan that wont be back for a while.

my advice to people is do as much helping as you can. donate to red cross, city harvest etc etc or just volenteer
this is nyc people, as much as we bitch and moan about it at the end of the day it is the place we call home
i hope we call can pull thru and keep our heads up.
i should have my internet back up by monday. so if i hear anything else on the subways i will keep you guys posted
