I'm eyeing that first weekend saturday. My god what a lineup. Nicole, Loco, Carl, and to finish off the night? Richie Hawtin. Yes, Please.

I mean, as long as you stayed at the good tents and minimized contact with the kandi kids, Ultra could be pretty freaking damn enjoyable. It's the best produced festival in the US, EDC Vegas is larger but it doesn't have the Cox tent nor does it have the Miami skyline and downtown in the backdrop. Lineup is fucking disgusting. Blows any other festival save DEMF away, and it even comes damn close to that (but the DEMF vibe is one-of-a-kind).

i just hate the idea that people think ultra is good based on its competition. come to europe. go to a real festival. then stfu about ultra.

So that lineup isn't good Pat? C'mon man, how is that not good? How is the Cox tent not bad as fuck? Or the Ibiza tent, or the Bedrock tent, etc...

Maybe it's cuz I worked at a British bar for the last year and had to put up with all those European assholes, but gimme Miami, WMC, Space, and South American dimes all day long over a festival in Europe with a bunch of douchebag European fucks. Would love to backpack around Europe for a month, but not exactly dying to fly over there for a music festival...just doesn't make much sense to me. Btw, I'm not advocating to go for all 3 days, hell no, but one day is well worth it.

I would like to go to the asot tent so bad. I just might go.

lineup is great, but it still doesn't provide a solution to the venue issues, and the consistent waiting in 20 minute+ lines for the bathrooms and drinks. It's unfortunate, because the lineup is really nice, but I just can't enjoy myself when all I am doing is going from line to line the entire time.

Last time I saw Armin, Ferry, Markus, and PVD all on the same stage in one day was....

sorry didnt wanna hijack this thread. this thread is about getting the info for the upcoming parties not my personal hatred toward ultra. we can discuss this in another thread.

Does anyone know if most of the major events (i.e. club nights and pool parties) will be focused on the 2nd weekend of MMW and not the 1st?

1st weekend will prob be a lot less hectic and less kids running around imo.

They may be, but we have to think about the first weekend of Ultra now. So your guess is as good as mine. I'm assuming the clubs will have to weigh their options to see if it will be worth it monetarily to throw any parties the week of the 11th-17th.

Gareth announced some Garuda party, not dates though. Expect the best in Trouse and Trouse-gressive.

I wonderif djs are going to be in Miami the whole week...I saw armin and above and beyond are closing the first weekend of ultra and also playing the following weekend at the asot 600...so will they relax in Miami all week and have a party during the time or go tour and then come back for asot 600

Most will stay, unless they can grab a quick paycheck elsewhere. I know a lot of djs treat this week as a vacation. You'll catch quite a few on the dance floors and in VIP. There's also a lot of private parties that us common folk never catch wind of. Also, to answer the question above, expect the vast majority of parties to happen the second week. With the explosion of dance music in the states and ultra expanding to two weekends, I expect a huge turnout this year and a ridiculous amount of parties to be announced. The downside is the number of inexperienced party goers running around is sure to create some problems. On the other hand, the event options may be as abundant as ever with promoters and clubs trying to cash in. If you choose your parties well, the week could have some serious potential.

Also, has anybody noticed that the Ultra fliers have none of that "Exclusive" crap under the artists names? I wonder if the industry finally made a stand. Maybe Ultra's expansion kept them from spending more money per artist as they strove for quantity. In any case, if artists are not exclusive, I'd expect that crazy lineup to be spreading itself across the landscape during the week. Boats, pools, after hours, day parties, and nightclubs could be even more loaded than previous years.

i've been wondering the same thing actually. i really hope so.

I think it's funny when people on here ask if people still listen to Trance ...considering .....this site is called TranceAddict...LOL

I feel like there were a lot more parties announced around this time last year. i could be wrong.

then again, once the big clubs come out (Mansion, Liv, Story), I'm sure that is when everyone else will release them to compete for ticket sales.
