these aren't out yet. Decided to get one and the ship data is like febrary which means march. Why would you just give some one 4000 to hold for 3 months. It isn't like there will be any wait time

Posted by DJ RANN on Dec-24-2013 23:01:

That's not true. around 80% of the mac pro orders placed within the first week or launch (i.e. last week) will receive their units on December 30th.

The delay for you might be a Canadian customs thing?

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Dec-25-2013 23:39:

naw , i guess it was their guestimated ship date but it seems some people have already received theirs.

Once i saw the size, i was sold. It is pretty much a mobile computer. You can easily transport these as carry ons.

the soundstage of platinum actually surpasses gold 10k fold.

Posted by Zak McKracken on Dec-26-2013 16:22:

the soundstage? do you mean the components resistance compared to gold? gold isnt that good of a transmitter, its just soft and therefore able to connect good in connectors as its surface "adapt" to the other surface, unlike silver which is a better transmitter yet much more stiff and therefore not suited for being used in connectors.

Not as good as rhodium

ya, people usually have that in a closet. if you have a studio and can't manage to have a computer room. i mean its kinda not really hard to run extensions unless you have terrible hearing and the buzz of a device is something youy can't hear.

Posted by The Dark NINJA on Dec-28-2013 11:02:

How do you put a cd in there?

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Dec-28-2013 22:50:

a what ?

And what that the fuck is all that about gold vs silver and gold be "soft"? Gold is used because it doesn't tarnish through exposure to air/oxidization. Pure Silver is actually a slightly better conductor but it oxidizes so unless it's completely insulated you're fucked after 6 months.

Posted by The Dark NINJA on Dec-29-2013 18:26:

That only means that all software must be downloaded thru the internet if there's no cd tray. Like old fart palm knows where it is.

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Dec-30-2013 22:52:

seriously tho, when is the last time you have used a cd. I think it must of been literally years. I mean if someone gave me a cd, i would just start laughing.

Compact disc not in awhile, but blu-ray disc and dvd's everyday.

What about when you're installing Kontakt? Minimum requirements are a DVD drive and 5 hours of your life you will never get back.

Posted by tehlord on Jan-04-2014 11:09:

Omnisphere is DVD too. Saying that, you can buy a USB DVD drive for $20 and leave it in the drawer until you need it.

Posted by The Dark NINJA on Jan-04-2014 20:49:

Compact Disc, DVD, Blue Ray same kind of shit almost man, damn. The whole Komplete is like 9 dvd's.

Posted by tehlord on Jan-06-2014 17:09:

I see the CPU is user upgradeable.

Another +1 to me getting one eventually.

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Jan-06-2014 23:25:

i downloaded the crack for the install. Same for kontakt. Although technically i didn't pay for the entire thing Komplete , i pretty much use the individual things i paid for. Buying anything boxed is really a cock block. It makes no sense when sample libraries are like the sitpire collection do all theirs dd. Boxes take up space and then there is the waiting. I assumed everyone did this.
