Well, one of the tracks I heard definitely wasn't house. It was the sort of techno beat, progressive structured tracks that Deep Dish and other progressive DJs such as Danny Howells, Justin Robertson, and Max Graham tend to play in their sets. Good stuff. But definitely techno-ish...

techno is obviously loosely used for dance music in the US...so obviously he'd call it techno...but he was seen alot on Ibiza hangin out in some house parties though...

isnt it actually called dangerous?

I didn't really want to reply to this thread since there are already 6 pages so I'm assuming not many TA will even read it again. But anways, I'm a fan of Hip Hop/Rap so I'd like to share some of my opinion.

1.yup, the starter of this thread started this thread to get opionions. Sure we got lots of great opinions but damn we dont need to be cussing over some guy we dont even care for (ahem! diddy, puffy, jiggy, whatever he is called now aday).

2.who cares if you like diddy or if you dont'. If you do then fine if you dont then thats cool too aint need to take it out on nobody in here. I personnaly dont like P. Diddy coz he can't freestyle, most of his damn beats were taken off of other songs. In every damn song of his he would be like saying this in the background "uh huh..don't stop, come on..feel me?..let's go...hahahah!! )

3.Lately he's been helping all these upcoming young artists (B2K, 2LW, blah blah) by producing of their songs. One word for all these songs CHEESE!.

4.When I hear of PUff Daddy one song comes up..."I'll Be Missing You" sure it was great song to the general public with a catchy beat but damn he even stole the fucking beats off of The Police-Every Breathe You Take. What an Asshole..yeah thats the song that he made to dedicated to Biggie. Genius.

5.NO, diddy aint Rap no more he's more cheezy mainstream hiphop..was he even considered rap? well maybe when biggie was alive?

6.and about his upcoming "techno-dance" album, we'll just have to wait and see. Maybe it'll be shitty but who knows and who cares coz its diddy..aint Tiesto or Oakenfold or whever that produces "dance" music. and when i say "dance" music i mean electronica in general. so why do we even care? we dont!

uh huh..let's go..dont stop..its diddy, puffy, daddo, jiggy, wiggy

Posted by budahbro on Mar-22-2003 16:55:

diddy is hardcore he beat up nas's producer in the name of the lord. amen to that

Posted by budahbro on Mar-22-2003 16:56:

Dont forget he produced the pop group "dream" had one chart song, and then died

Posted by bobba lou on Mar-22-2003 20:16:

p diddy

He was @ club bed in miami south beach when james holden was spinning.

Posted by RedLunatik on Mar-22-2003 21:48:

p diddy sucks so much nowadays
he should just quit and stick to his clothing line or just teaching dance moves (that is if he makes his own moves)

The beats and the vibes [of dance music] are so limitless. They're almost so advanced that I think that dance music is the new frontier where hiphop has to eventually go to.

Is this a threat??? Many people listen to trance and techno to escape that horrid shit that is hip hop. Not to mention puff daddy is up there with ja rule as far as people who should be shot for lack of talent. yeah puff daddy i dont care about his new name lol.
As for making "techno" cant wait to hear it, for some reason im not expecting him to be the next carl cox though.

Hopefully the project becomes a shripwrecked failure and this attempt to fuse hip-hop and trance dissolves rapidly. The two genres dont belong together, Half the time we trancers want the MC shot dead cuz he is ruining a massive synth now there trying to fuse it with hip hop lol??

Well all i know is this will be damn interesting to hear, for some reason i dont think P' dipshit has much knowledge of electronic music, wait of any music for that matter. He knows how to steal and ruin thats all ive seen so far. Go back to clothes lol.

Posted by Dmatrox on Mar-23-2003 01:39:

I personally dont see trance and hip hop, maybe other genres of electronic may go well, but i cant imagine how a blend of hip hop and trance will sound like. So far, theres jungle rap (which i think is mostly annoying except for that one track with Choclair and that jungle dj which i forget his name).

Im interesting to hear the track from sean combs (will the guy make up his goddam mind what his name is? ).

Im suspecting the rap/electronic sound for Combs will be a touch of Paul Oakenfold's Bunkka.

Does anyone know who puff daddy is working with? If anyone, it should be oakenfold, im sure he knows what to do.

I listen to small amounts of rap, i hear cathcy songs on the radio and i know whats up on it pretty much. It used to be all i listend to until i found the great music known as trance. Neways my point is that hopefully P. Diddy is working with people who are experienced in the biz, and hopefully he doesnt fuck up so bad that it ruins peoples opinions for the genre, turn potential new listenrs away. I dunno man i just dont know. I do know that as soon as itrs released lets get it on the hub, because i know none of us are about to pay for it.

Posted by refuge on Mar-23-2003 20:00:

p. diddy is a disgrace to hip-hop. when i hear his name, i burst into laughter. the only thing i appreciate about him, is, yes, he does produce some good beats, for the commercial rap world, and his clothing line sean jean has some nice gear. i mean, come on, if it was for biggy, this mother****** wouldn't be shit, he was his sidekick. as far as p.diddy making his own dance album, i never thought that day would ever come, and i highly doubt that it will appeal to true electronic music fans, regardless of it being produced by the industry's finest.
