Dj PIO is right this time, I can't understand why some people can't appreciate it...
He's the most popular, end of discussion

also..

Also this poll is quite confounded and biased. Statistically speaking, in order to conduct an experiment/poll, you need to account for the entire population that you're drawing the statistic from. What this poll failed to do, and why it is confounded, is because it relied solely on voluntary response, which is an immediate confounding factor when polls are conducted.

Obviously, since the population for this poll is too large to examine, the proper way is to gather a random sample from the population and ask their opinions. But obviously a large scale poll is rather hard to do, so they rely on people going to their site to vote. So the poll is confounded by this.

BUT... I love Tijs, and most of the people who rank high... so it's all good lol

DJ Marky from Brazil is in the list, and anyone who knows about dnb knows who he is. Other djs like Andy C have more SKILL than anyone in the top 10 but since he spins a less globally popular genre he wouldn't make it to the top 10.

Right now go into a club in the most remote country on Earth and they'll pretty much know who the people in the top 10 are. Those guys that you mentioned? Only where you are from.

it's about time someone made some sense

And yes.. he has held "best night" or whatever u meant to say, when he played back to back with Scott Bond at Gatecrashers 8th Bday.. and im pretty sure will hav the 12:00 O`Clock Spot on NYE at Gatecrasher. Thats pretty f00king huge in my eyes.

He's the most underatted DJ i no of, and if u saw him live u would wonder urself why he isnt at least in the top 10. The problem is... i think many of the people who hav voted are going by livesets they hav downloaded. This is a huge disadvantage for people like matt hardwick, coz not many of his sets get broadcasted, and unless u get the opportunity to see him live in a club, then he's not gonna be pulling in many votes.

hit the nail on the head, last time sum heard hardwick was when he played warmup music at nec in april! his cd from resident transmission is a perfect exampel of what his sets r like pure trance from the club which sitll continues to spearhead the trance movement.

It's too much based on American votes/taste. So therefore 'worldwide' isn't the right term.

LOL! Ok for one thing...mr. statistician...though you may be SLIGHTly correct, randomness would NOT be the answer to a good poll. If we were to take a poll randomly on the streets or whatever, 75% of the world wouldnt even know what the hell they're voting for. They'd prolly choose Oakenfold, or some other 'popular' dj that they've heard of. Voter knowledge is > than randomness in this case. Those knowledgable in the field are prone to make more valid judgement. Therefore we can conclude that their method of polling is indeed acceptable :P Yes, some bias does come in the picture, but hey, no statistic sample is perfect.

ZOkle.

Dude, about Matt HArdwick, good, he mixed a CD for Gatecrasher, which is obvious since he IS their RESDIENT DJ, Matt Hardwick, coul be the # 1 DJ in the UK, but in the world , no ! go and ask anyone who he is in other parts besides the surrounding European countries .. Asia, America.. and if they are not Tranceaddicts and have not gone to party at gatecrasher when he helds the throne at Crasher, then no one knows him man.. I mean, Dj's like Sasha, Digweed, Paul van Dyk, Armin, Ferry, Tiesto, and all the others at the top 10 have at least PRODUCED, and had a BOOKED up schedule around the WORLD ! ! Matt Hardwick, may go to other countries but to represent the Gatecrasher PARTY .. which is great for him to get known. KNOW WHAT I MEAN ? Some of the flaming are so ridiculous ! ! ! its like why isnt George Acosta on the TOP if he is the best DJ in Miami ? ! ? and does one of the biggest partys..... then again, my statement answers it.. Im not saying Hardwick is bad, I which I could be at a party where he spinns, he probobly is better then Tiesto for what I heard from the GC party ... but its a Global VOTE GUYS ! ! ! come ON !

Posted by CrackedLcd on Nov-02-2002 07:11:

I think when it comes to djing, tiesto is pretty reliable when it comes to doing a good set....I think he deserves it...

@ Tiesto bashers:

Listen to his Innercity set from 99, to his TE set 2000, the DD set this year, and Magik 6 and ISOS2 and tell me HONESTLY that u didnt enjoy it.

Imagine the Trance scene without Tiesto, come ON he IS one of the gofathers of uplifting trance, like it or not.

So he had only 3 good sets in 3 years?

Posted by verminator on Nov-02-2002 14:17:

i'd say that this list is more a list of the most commercial dj's than the best dj's

sad but true

70% of the names in the top10 cant even mix compared to what other dj's can
