John Digweed in September. Playing in SF and LA. I thought I read that it's a 'warehouse' event. If so, could be interesting
Is that the secret location one in LA? I was looking at that.
Seriously considering flying from OR to TX to see Sasha and Digweed @ Silo (Dallas) in September. How are their recent sets together? Last time I saw them together was 2006.
PVD this Sat night at Avalon is close to sold out...
PVD at Avalon 7-27 tix
I got to meet the legendary david.sound at lightning in a bottle this year
Our next show is Brijean at the Indy, tomorrow.
And then... burning man*
(*not really a show)

It's always great to see your favorite artists in a different environment. Different vibe, different sound and it's Sasha and Digweed yo!!! |

Looks like we just got tickets to Maceo Plex this weekend.

Maceo was pretty fucking dope yo! Heater after heater was being thrown on. I've been a fan for a while but I'd say, this show made me an even bigger fan. I love how he dances to his music. It's fun to watch.
Venue was cool. Basically a parking lot. It's the same spot that Sasha and Digweed played a year or so ago. The only difference is that it was facing the opposite direction where the art installation is located at.
Vibe was cool too. Most of the folks attending were (that I saw) were into the music. A couple of LA types who were focused on selfies and group pictures but that's to be expected.
Best part of the night was running into a lot of old school folks. A lot of old school TAers, Spundae, Avalon friends were all out. Probably one of the funnest parties I got to attend in a long time. For some of us, it's been years since we last saw each other, yet it felt like nothing changed.
Not from these parts but have been seeking to hear AP again because he's so good and noticed he's playing in your neck of the woods. Highly recommend.

I gotta check out more Maceo Plex...sounds like a good time. Glad you had a blast.
@OrangestO no kidding, just heard AP for the first time on a set on YouTube this week. Blown away, he's great. I'm keeping an eye out to see if he shows up in the NW sometime.
Got tickets for S&D in Dallas next month, going to make the trip. I'm so excited to go out again I dusted off my old CDJs, haven't touched em for 10 years. Old, but they work!

Just made the last minute decision to attend. Or I should say the wife graciously accepted watching the kids tonight while I go out and get shit faced to good music
I heard Digweed was a bit ill during his SF show last night. I'm hoping he's recovered and can do his planned 5 hour set. I don't think I can hang that long though. Hoping to get past 2:30AM to be the Uber surcharges though.
Digweed was fun!!! I really enjoyed the "warehouse" experience. The team held the event at a sound studio near LAX airport and the event went till 5AM. Drinks were also being served till after 3AM which was AWESOME!
Musically, Digweed was awesome. Rumor has it though that he was pretty ill but one wouldn't have noticed. He played his traditional sound that kept you dancing all night. As with many Digweed parties, the best part was socializing with lots of friends who made the effort to get baby sitters to party that night. Really felt good to catch up with so many people.
Rad. Sounds like a blast, great setting...hope they do more of those secret location/warehouse events in the future. You make it all night?
S+D on Saturday in TX...4-hour set, gotta make it until 2AM!

What will be great about seeing S&D in another city is that you won't know too many people and will get to dance more. That's something I regret not doing enough of. I wished I would have danced more. We don't get out often and letting off some steam on the dance floor feels amazing.
Dude you were right about Diggers being sick. Bar Americas in Guadalajara just announced he's in the hospital in LA and they had to postpone his show tonight. Hope he's OK!

Holy shit. Sasha killed it at Silo tonight in Dallas. I was a little wary at first because I haven't loved all of his recent sets this year, and I wondered how it'd go without Digweed...but I had nothing to worry about. What a night.
He brought it dark and heavy, like 2000-era pounding prog (think Communicate), perfect for the warehouse vibe. He started pretty hard and after an hour and a half in, it was absolutely furious on the dancefloor, relentless punishment in the best possible way. Honestly more of what I'd expect from a Digweed set, but still had plenty of those signature Sasha euphoric melodies floating on top throughout. Easily one of my favorite DJ sets I've ever seen, the energy was unreal. I danced my ass off the entire time. Wife loved it too! Hell of a set for her first one!
Nice venue, great crowd, Sasha was clearly having a blast and the crowd was loving it. Most people were there to dance, phones kept to a minimum which was nice.
Everything I could've wanted in a Sasha set. If he plays at Silo again I want to fly back down for it, totally worth it. Only way it could've been better is if they ease up the subs a bit (pretty typical though) and of course if Diggers was there. Get better John!
I'm sooooo happy he pulled off a great set. I wonder if he knew he had to perform a little extra better to fill in some big shoes with Digweed out.
So sorry that Digweed couldn't make it. It's pretty wild with how sick he is/was. I can't imagine being hospitalized in another country (thankfully the US) for a few days and having to miss some shows.
Yeah man. The closest I can find to the same energy is his set from Manchester in 2023: https://youtu.be/cIFsdqYvf1U?si=_Ng9BxWiF05LybxS
I know...crazy about Digweed. Hope he's OK. He's been in the hospital for a week now.
Edit: looks like he's out of the hospital (or out soon) according to his IG post on October 2nd.
