quick question..Why is all the hardwick fans are from the UK? i dont see many people giving him much props except people from the UK..he came to cali like 2 weeks ago.and played an average set nothing spectacular an ok set..so from my own experience he is an ok DJ i liked his essential mix and his set here was ok..so i wonder the way u guys talk about em makes him seem awesome..yet i have never seen anyone other than UKTA's give him sooooooooooo much props..is he like a new fashion now?

im not disputing the tunes he played. ive already sed they were good (for a change) but some of his mixing was piss poor, you and i can both do better! so how can he be #1 in the world..?

as for the question from tranceaholic.. matt hardwick is very good because he is consistant. he is more consistant than all the big DJ's u care to name, armin, ferry, tiesto, talla, MIKE, even picotto.

the reason we all think he is god is because when he plays just a 'good' set, for him its below par. even his worst sets are still good! tiesto's worst sets are shockingly bad

sure...he's playing is more complete nowadays...not playing all the set trance trance trance...ok we are tranceaddicts here but its quite boring to listen sets only with trance...prog and some techno tunes are nice in a set to change the style and break the monotony...

tiestoinmix and me are fans of tiesto...dj-steve is a pvd fan...
it was stupid to mention something about greeks in this thread

thats where u are wrong. if wanted all the fame and glory he would be in the studio a damn site more. DJing is his life. he is fine as he is, and he is content with it.

he's got a residency at the worlds most renowned club... does it get any better than that?

true...but who isnt going for the money???tell me someone that he is playing only because he likes what he does and not for the money...

this is our times...

that was exactly my point. if he was in it for the money, he would actually care about playing more places and getting more well known.. but the fact is he doesnt. he does it because he loves it..

and ill be playing GC summersoundsystem next year, in the bullshit tent

I WAS a fan of Tiesto!

If we compare how tiesto was Then and Now, i am sure u would see a diffence in his style.

So he plays a more complete set with Prog now? Obviously that makes him better! Tiesto was going with the trend to try and attract more people to his fan base, i.e get more prog people to listen to him more. However, i think he failed becasue

1) he didn't incorporate prog into his sets very well, thus dissastisfying both sets of fans (Trance and Prog)

Also a musician doing things for money is fine, however, in the current light of recent events, apparantly you may have to pay $500 just to see Tiesto on NYE which is shameful. I find that u are inclined to agree.

And i was a fan of tiesto. He played some great sets at great festivals in the year 2000-2001. His tiestosolo tour was fantastic, many UKTAs will agree, since he came to the UK for one leg of the tour. Sets from Dancevalley, Trance Energy, Hyperstate etc ARE fantastic. Surely u can see that his performance is not what it was.

And blank, I'm sure Tu_face has a lot more experience of clubbing than u. Take my word for it!

Posted by dj_mdma on Nov-19-2002 18:48:

and he also released a great album!

However a few of his recent remixes have not been quite up to standard, which, of course is not going to make people happy.

If Tiesto pulls up his socks and starts to concentrate on making people happy, then i'm sure he will regain the confidence of the trance community again.

and before u say anything I saw him @ NYE 2001, Homelands 2001, Gods Kitchen GLobal Gatering 2002, and the rest of the UKTAs saw him at All Gatecrasher events as well.

peace

well i guess ill have to come to the UK and see hardwick for myself maybe then ill understand the hype myslef hehe..hopefully next summer..

Posted by DJ Mikey Mike on Nov-19-2002 18:51:

im speechless. Its kinda pathetic that you think Tiesto is a better DJ than Hardwick. Anyone who went to the NEC will tell you that Hardwick & Bond set was better than Tiesto's. And the reason it wasnt broadcasted was coz of how late it was, and galaxy had to stop broadcasting at 3am. Or summing like that. I suggest you all stop talking crap, coz you really are making fools of yourselves.

sure he played some great sets these years 2000-2001...what im saying is that he is more complete now as a dj...i was bored of these sets full of trance...there aer many prog tunes kicking asses..so to play these tunes is not bad at all...

dj mikey mike where is this ugly gielens foto????

J/K dude!

Posted by tu_face on Nov-19-2002 19:00:

clubbing experiance.. i dont really care about. but the point is ive seen tiesto lots and lots of times (at least 15) over the last two years (at one point it was every two weeks when he was GC resident) and hes only really played as if he is the worlds number one 2 or 3 of those times.

do u see my point now?

and mikey is right. this is a thread about NEC, not whether tiesto is shit or not.

so lets stop it here
