Dunno if ya heard about this proggie it's called "nap comeback" or something like that the url is [URL=http://www.napcameback.com]It encrypts the names of your files so that napster de-filters them, they need support but the idea is nice. try it, i'm using it and it's working just fine.

Morpheus is gay unless your on a broadband connection...

search is kinda like win2k search engine and isn't very helpful.. neither is the download/resume system. MusicCity should have used a program similar to WinMX (one of the best Napster like programs out here) although these days my WinMX only connects to 1 or 2 servers and has 300gigs of stuff...

Hi ! Guy !
I am using WinMX. I would like to know what are the coolest servers where you may get all ?. Or just good ones.
I am there. So if you ant to download.

Posted by Pointy on May-26-2001 10:19:

Music-city Server's on WinMX used to be AWESOME before they went to Morpheus... it had 30,000 gigs of mp3s online whenever you connected... but now when i connect it says there's a couple thousand of users online.. but with not 1 mp3 being served =(

Posted by djzero2k on May-26-2001 11:25:

Hey Ponty DC ! :=)
So what are you using now ?
I am using WinMX. It's an excellent program but I would like another. To have a good alternative. I dont know. Are you thinking in one right now ?. Just tell me. Thankx

Posted by alkizz on May-26-2001 13:23:

Right now WinMX is the best out there (audioGnome is a close second) I would stick with either one of those.

Posted by Pointy on May-27-2001 00:13:

DJZERO2K.. im using Polaris (mIRC) server: irc.newnet.net.. channel:#mp3-techno

along with the internet.. http://beam.to/technodron
www.tranceaddict.com (of course) http://djmixes2k.tripod.com
amongst others...

alkizz... you say that WinMX is the best for you... how many gigs are you searching through when you connect?

Posted by alkizz on May-27-2001 02:40:

Actually, at the moment I have become an avid user of tranceaddict.com. =]

I haven't used any client for awhile, but I do watch and listen to my friends (reality and internet friends). The consensus at the moment is that WinMX is better, aG is having connectivity problems from my recent experience. I was one of the original beta testers for this cool program, so I have a affinity for aG. It does have the coolness of PNN, which is close to p2p. It is just not reliable at the moment but this is probably due to the decline of the opennap movement. I used WinMX when it 1st came out, just as I did for most of the other file sharing apps (filenavigator, songspy, bearshare, gnutella, IRC, newsgroups, etc.). It was nice when it came out and it still is the top of the heap at this point. To answer your question: about 5000 users so around 2500Gig, to be honest I wasn't paying too much attention. =]

Okay currently im using audiogalaxy (i'll tell u why in a min). This is good bcos they have nearly every song i want but, the d/l speeds suck.
On my computer i have installed :-
WinMx
Napster
Napigator
Toad Node
AudioGnome
Gnotella

And apart from Napster (RIP) when i start any of them they wont connect to any servers. And if they do then i wont be able to find any files i want.
Am i doin something wrong? Plus a list of decent servers wud definatly b a good idea.

Fucking RIAA, if the artists got the money it wouldn't bother me as much. I would gladly pay the artists direct for tunes.

mmmh, got imesh, tried it once but dont know if my winamp was swithed on??

but i think its just on your computer coz i got no idea why it should work together??

Posted by Walter Mindz on May-29-2001 04:24:

RE: Imesh

I used Imesh, and worked my winamp at the sametime the only problem with it is that you can't play the song your d/l-ing until it's done...but it's still bugged in other ways too.

Posted by tifannithiessen on May-29-2001 11:32:

this is an easy 1...it's audio galaxy..the perfect alternative. www.audiogalaxy.com then go 2 download satellite and ur off. it doesnt cut u off cos u resume the download when theother person is back online. its brilliant!!!rspect
