I may know a place, but it's NYE's the prices are always higher that night. There's one small place that my friends from Rochester always use, but i forgot the name of it... i'll try to get all the info for the place for ya.

Hopefully that ends this endless conversation! hehe

OS

I have no problems with that policy. I only have a problem with it if the party, that is expected to be in Toronto, ends up being out of and no where near the city. I'm confident you guys have a great venue.

Posted by TrAnCe CoNtRoL on Dec-21-2002 05:16:

Malice you make a good point. A person like me, coming from out of town, expects this to be in Toronto, like advertised. If i play to book a hotel in downtown Toronto, and the event ends up (hypothetically speaking) at lets say Viva, I don't really feel like driving 20 min to Markham. Hopefully it's actually in Toronto. And Malice i think i found a hotel, a cheap one, on Dundas street north. a few blocks from yongue street.

so whos actually going to this thing? i want to go, but i dont know who else is goin??

Posted by mot10n on Dec-22-2002 09:29:

methinks a roll call thread should soon be in order...

Posted by Durafei on Dec-23-2002 15:43:

Yeah, I absolutely don't understand why promoters are often so stubborn that they don't want to tell the venue simply out of principle and some stupid(yeah, STUPID) tradition..... Or are there are other reasons? If so, we'd like to know..

Posted by TrAnCe CoNtRoL on Dec-24-2002 16:22:

ok its exactly 7 days (one week) before the event. tell me the venue damnit so i can finalize my plans!

Location Information

We are bringing back everything that is good about New Years!

Venue
This is an all ages party (16+) with a 19+ Licensed Area for those with I.D.

VIVA NIGHTCLUB
8261 Woodbine Avenue
Markham, Ontario

There is a SHUTTLE BUS service from Finch Station to the venue all night long. Remember that the TTC is operating on New Year's hours so subway schedules have been extended. The Shuttle picks up from the front of the station (Yonge St.) approx. every hour beginning at 9pm. The last bus leaves Viva Nightclub at 645am.

Directions From the 401:

Take Hwy 401 to Hwy 404

Take Hwy 404 North to Steeles Avenue

Exit at Steeles at continue north (straight) - this is Woodbine Ave

Take Woodbine just past the Hwy 407 overpass and turn right into the parking lot at the COSTCO parking lot - Viva Nightclub is on the right hand side (south side of the lot). There is virtually unlimited free parking.

If you are coming from the North, simply come down HWY 404 to HWY 7, travel a short distance east on Hwy 7 and then south on Woodbine to the venue.

Viva Nightclub has one of the best sound and light systems in all of Ontario. Many have compared it to the infamous Guvernment sound system and we feel that it is definitely the only system that comes close - a definite close second for the whole province in fact. Add to this a 25 watt full spectrum laser, video projections and other add-on's for this very special New Year's Eve and you have a night to remember! In addition, we have added a massive temporary shelter to house the second dance stage. This shelter will be heated to tropical levels with four diesel (these suckers are almost nuclear!) powered heaters throughout the day to ensure a toasty start to the evening. The second arena will also macked out production and crazy decor that is befitting the season!

All in all its going to be a wicked night and we hope to see you all out.

Posted by mot10n on Dec-25-2002 03:17:

hot damn, i am there. ringing in the new year at viva should be sick. especially with some awesome hard house banging, and all that trance. i can't wait! geez, i can't believe they're setting up a tent-type dealie for the second room. crazy. hopefully it will be a good place to go if we want to chill (literally)

Posted by AAzn_ScratcH on Dec-25-2002 04:41:

woohoo

so if i get my ticket on the 26th?
is it going to be 35 or 40?

Posted by The Highroller on Dec-25-2002 06:50:

should be $35 according to the flyer

Posted by Nikish on Dec-25-2002 11:15:

I'm going for sure.
We should setup some sorta meeting place in there or nearby.
mot10n, we'll prlly meet up earlier on and maybe head to TO together...tty on ICQ

FYI: Madam Zu plays NU-NRG usually, and the party at Tropicana was a regular rave, not a "hard-house party".
I'd like to hear what kinda hard trance she's gonna spin though...
