whoa this is news to me. i knew of the remix name "dub 4 satoshi" but it sounds just like satoshi's style.

Sander Kleinenberg - Buenos Aires
Steve Porter - Bubblebath
Foundation - Somebody's Watching Me (Futureshock Extended Mix)
Sattva - Echoes (WoW Remix)
Slacker - A Million Dreams

Pretty much the same already mentioned. I know another real stormer but I can't even mention it yet

*edit - I'm a jackass. I mixed up '5 Million Miles' by H&H and 'A Million Dreams' by Slacker.

Most breakdowns have a bassline of some sort, and because the music is housy, you have to build your set more than trance.

1. steady beat
2. basslines are the main part where in trance the synths are.
3. breakdowns are shorter with bass in them.
4. More sounds from multiple instruments, not just synths like trance.

what do u mean by "steady beat"?

I agree with points 2 and 4...but 1 and 3 seem a little off to me. Breakdowns aren't necessarily shorter and they don't always have "bass" in them. The way I see it, is that unlike in trance, prog has no real buildup. It does have a breakdown, but after that breakdown it just goes back to the groovey beat and bass; there's no massive buildup that pretty much every trance songs has (thats why I got tired of trance :-\)

yeah, it's funny cuz you were probably so against prog (like most of us were); saying how boring it is, blah blah blah, and now we've succumbed to it. About a year ago, or so, it was all about the latest, greatest Armin/Ferry/Tiesto/PvD/Gielen/Push remix/production/collab/album/liveset for me.

Moral of the story? more than half of you current prog-hating trancers will follow the same path that we did

And if this hasn't been posted; Origin - Killing Me (Evolution mix), I like!

Posted by fr0st on Feb-16-2003 01:18:

aquaculture - dont play the game
Slacker - A million dreams
Momu - the dive
Paris & Healey - Ripped
iio - At The End(feos treament)

iio - at the end (feos treatment) << is it much better than saeed & palash's, tribal hybrid's or scumfrog's mx?

top tune atm: first track in anthony pappa's live in the colours mx set. i dont know the name though. help

Posted by DJ-Kuza on Feb-17-2003 06:56:

steady beat as in like all house genre, trance included. Just the boom tiss. And by build - ups, I mena they sometimes don't even go anywhere, they just build up to the same beat as the intro. And instead of a high piano or string, the build up has a bass roll.
