Frankly as much as I like the stuff Dumonde used to do, their recent work has been pretty crappy. Hopefully they will turn things around instead of churning out another "Mind Made Up" or "Can You Dig It?"

az your comments aren't always this stupid..
looking at pvd and astral projections productions you can clearly see that most of them are better buildup and they do things different from time to time, not just the same buildup and same string melody..
like i said dumonde was good but after a couple of good solid tunes they just went on the rapiditive mode, uninspired if you ask me..

I've said this plenty of times and I'll say it again. I would like to see any of you try to produce something that has even half as much energy that a DuMonde song contains. Many of you will bash the hell out of DuMonde saying that their shit is "boring" and "all the same" yet I doubt that 50% of you have even heard a DuMonde tune in a club. I will admit myself, I have not heard them in a club (I have not yet been to a club) but I can tell that their shit will get you moving. DuMonde are one of the pioneers of hard trance and that bassline that is considered "shit" to some of you has shaped what the genre is today.

I LOVE dumonde. I think I am one of the few that liked God Music. Even though they get flamed for keeping the same melody (to a point) I love it.

Cant wait to hear the new track !

its not really any coinsidence us two who like dumonde lots in thread are the only people who get to see them loads

Well Dumonde do make club tunes, you cannot deny it, some can appreciate them in MP3's, some can't, it's their loss.

So many TA's are torn on Dumonde - I've never seen such split opinions on an artist - so many love them wholeheartedly (me included) and others absolutely HATE them, even non-progheads.

Mind Made Up was A+ IMHO. Keep it up Dumonde!

listen to Astral Projection - Chaos / Technodrome, or any number of tunes by Astrix (on the Eye to Eye album) I find these basslines to be powerful & energetic.

Energy means different things to different people, personally, I find Dimension 5's work to be the most energetic trance I've ever heard. I would love to hear that in a club, unfortunately not many clubs play trance, and even less play goatrance.

i said that dumonde hasn't been good this year (imo, = opinion ) but i'll never say that they didn't deserve to be "famous"/well-known for making energetic trance.. but i'll say this: they better come up with some new kind of tune because another "look a like but never coming close never look back"-tune would for me be evendence that they have lost it!

As much as I like Dumonde, it's been a while since I completely lurved any of their works...

As for their bassline, they are their weakest link IMO...

Ussually it's either the offbeat an overused one (Can U Dig It? , Never Look Back) or the double offbeat which sometimes sound really disharmonic to me IE The Theme ...

They have power, they have energy, to me they don't really have atmosphere (it isn't really needed) , but for the past year, they miss brilliance.

Well, first thank you for respecting our work, man!

Generally speaking, we try to do the music for ourselves first, if the people like it they like it - fine , if they don't like it... then they won't buy it, easy game.
But we sell so many copies on our own label F8T Records, that something must be right with our tracks (in the view of the people out there).
And yes we are doing these tunes to play them in a club and not on the computer. If we spin for example a set of 2-3 hours, we use to start softer and then build it to the climax in the end... which is to play our own tracks. The last 30-40 minutes of our sets are always our own tracks, productions or new remixes. The last 30-40 minutes are always the best minutes of the whole set time! Everytime the people go crazy... can't really tell you why... must have to do with the choice of tracks...

But anyway, I also respect if someone doesn't like our music, the world is so big...

EDIT: In any case I definitely agree with you - some people like certain kinds of music and others don't. What's wrong is when people start imposing their ideas on others. I listened to some Astral P stuff, and the reason its different is coz its psy/goa trance, and played at a higher bpm than Dumonde's stuff, which is uplifting hard trance.

Admittedly, the recent stuff from Dumonde hasnt been doing much for me, I prefer the older stuff like Trauma (which REALLY needs a 12" release), Missed Beat and Memory.
