Funny u mention that- my roomate brought that home the other night and handed it to me before he passed out drunk, but it was so late, and I'm already walking thin ice regarding oversleeping for work, so I didn't get to watch it. I'll go rent it another day I guess.

Confused

Since we're discussing movies, has anybody seen "Before Sunrise" (1995)? If anybody want to see opposite of a "messed up" movie, watch "Before Sunrise." That movie is simple and beautiful. Even for a guy, I loved the movie. The best romantic movie I've seen. Two people meet Vienna, walk around the city, and fall in love. The conversation they have is incredible. No special effects, no emotional endings, no dark secrets about past life....pure simplicity. Messed up isn't always good. [/QUOTE]

My fave romantic too, bro! Linklater is amazing except his Newton Boys flick...his first is still timeless, Slacker is a must see.

and if you haven't seen Dazed and Confused your a retard. his recent Waking Life flick is prolly my next rent. any one see this?

The US version of the DVD has english dubing on one of the audio tracks ... not sure how good it is, I always watch it with the subtitles. BTW the Canadian version of Run Lola Run is missing a bunch of stuff thats on the US version altho it does have an extra music video. (I own both versions)

Some other movies I dont think have been mentioned yet:
Brazil
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
The Acid House

Messed up movie of 2003 : House of 1000 Corpses.
Go see it. FUCKED.
Written & Directed by Rob Zombie.

Posted by TheDemon on Apr-22-2003 00:31:

Final Destination 2 is also really fucked up.

Training Day is an excellent movie.

also don't watch the english dubed version of Run Lola Run. I watched the first few minutes of it the other day and it was really really bad, I had to switch to german+english subtitles right away.

Yeah, i had the same thing with Anatomy. its a good movie, but the damn dubbing was horrible.

Margaret-
I just watched "The Salton Sea"- thanks for the recommendation! It was soooo damn good. I'm surprized this movie didn't get more publicity. Val Kilmer did a great job, and he even looked hot.

yey, someone listens to me. and yes he is hot in that movie. i think its the hair and the tortured look on his face. i found it funny how the beginning of the movie might as well be at the Comfort Zone.

another weird movie is Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. starts of fine and then gets really weird.

Posted by mot10n on Apr-27-2003 15:07:

if anyone wants fucked up, get tetsuo: ironman . 1988 japanese b&w film. basically about a guy who starts becoming iron. very cool atmosphere it puts you in, and it just gets weirder and weirder. i highly reccomend this to people who wanna watch something and just go "wtf"

Posted by trancearmada on Apr-27-2003 17:28:

just watched "Identity" together with E-Master & Mecha last night! Boy was that a fucked up movie or what...

also just won a copy of La Haine "Hate" on DVD! Rare and out of print! I had it on VHS before but now got my hands on DVD! WOOHOO!
Also there is another really fucked up movie with Vincent Cassel "Dobermann" you are not likely at all to find this anywhere in Ontario period! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...3323352516&rd=1

Close, but not quite- sure everyone is tweeked out, but there were no juiceheads & strippers in the opening scene.
Yeah, Val looks really hot. It's the Ferry-Beckham mohawk, all those tattoos and the leather pants.... he's one sexy muthafukkah!

Bully

Its from the same director as "Kids". Definetly a great movie, and you can completely tell that its the same director. Bully and Kids show a ton of similarities, but regardless its another great movie.

Telly from Kids is in it, and the guy from Murder by Numbers (not the guy from Breaker High, the other guy).

Its based on a true story.

I just watched it 2 nights ago and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. My heart was beating SO hard and fast during the really suspensful scenes.

One thing I don't understand.

DO NOT READ THIS NEXT PART IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN "BULLY" - SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT!

Why would Marty get the death penalty when the other guys are just as guilty as he is?
The gang member guy smashes his head with a baseball bat and the weird druggy kid is the first to stab him and continually stabs him throughout the killing.
I think the big guy should've gotten more than 11 years. I mean he didn't hit him or anything, but he did throw the kid in the water while he was still breathing.

And Im so confused to who put the annonymous tip in. I figured it would've been the girl with the kid, but then I saw that she got 40 years. I think they would've been a little lax on her if she gave the tip.

I don't see why she would get 40 years and the girl with the blue hair would only get 7 years (or 8 I can't remember). They were both just as responsible. Well maybe the girl with the kid was a little more responsible since she lured him out there, but the blue-haired girl gave the signal for the guys to come down and kill him.

My guess is that she put in the "annonymous" tip, hence her substansially shorter sentance. Or maybe it was the big guy, Im confused now
