This mix is full of the tunes that have been rocking 5AM the last two times we've played there. I dont want to hype it too much but I think all the ta's will absolutely love it (totally an uplifting affair). You will be able to download it from www.reemo.com.au and we will be sending out copies to. My email address is below if your interested!!!! Cheers everybody for such an awesome nite. Jules |
Some other great tracks played on the night by charlie zee and steve strangis were...
Ayla pres. Yel - Sun Is Coming Out (Uplifting mix)
Queen vs Vanguard - Flash (Tomcraft mix)
Marc Aurel - Running (Dominator mix)
Kid Vicious - Proceed
DJ Albert vs Precision - Say Yes (Katana mix)
Oceanlab - Beautiful Together (Signum mix)
Warrior - If You Want Me
Magic Impuls - Exposure
Carlo Resoort vs 4 Strings - Revelation
Push - Strange World
Riva - Time Is The Healer (Armin Van Buuren mix)
Solar Stone - Solarcoaster (Greg Murray mix)
Blank & Jones - Cream
Awesome night....and to all the TA's who weren't reprazenting...get your act together
haha mark is a funny ****, he kept jumping up to ask what the track was when reemo was playing, i told him its a ronski speed remix, eyes of horus or sonorous - protonic, i don't think either of us could hear each other well, he finally got to look at the record and came back and said "its eye of horus", i said "i told you! dont ever doubt me again!!" haha
it was alright, not as many people as last time but it was still fun. miss mel was alright, i think she was just beatmatching and fading straight into the next track, but i liked what she was playing so it was ok
jimmy z
was hit and miss, some good some crap i thought, but i love everyday, even though i think there are better mixes than what he plays
and the flutlicht remix of 'cosmic gate - raging' i love too
at least he enjoys himself and lets it show.
steve was up next and was good as always, one small stuff up mixing out of solarcoaster but thats ok, 1st stuff up i think ive seen him do!
saw a little bit of reemo and julian before we left, what i heard was nice
haha we were graced by the second coming of jesus lol, who was jumping around like an idiot and having fun.
i think i was a bit tired and not as excited as i have been before it was good
bah except for mcdonalds closing 15 mins early grrr
i took some photos for a multimedia work requirement so when those are developed i'll scan them and put them up. haha jolz said i had my finger in front of the lens so hopefully not all of them are fucked up!
yeah, my hearing was somewhat shot last night. big cheers to reemo and jules who banged out a high-energy set last night -- lots of fun guys. similarly big cheers to mr strangis: lotsa fun as always dude.
HJ: was it the original or the Signum mix of Oceanlab - Beautiful Together? I thought it may have been the original. Steve?
Full review coming later
I have a 21st to go to.
it was a good night out, not a lot of people which was a disappointment, miss mel's set was good, charlie zee has improved from the last 5am
actually he improved a great deal
steve- played alright i laughed at the stuff up into solarcoaster...
but it was very good indeed
reemo and jules seen the first half of ur set, very nice indeed.....had to leave early coz i needed some sleep as i have an exam on tuesday
nice to meet all the new TA's erm dynafire (my new faithless buddy
)
and nick, and JulesPLees who i have previously stood next to when watching sis bliss on new yrs eve, such a small world
u guys rock
see u all at the next 5am
Okay all, here's the obligatory SQ-K review. This one's gonna be a little more vague...
I rolled up at about 2am a little the worse for wear from a mate's homecoming bash, and I simply carried on getting trashed
. If anyone wants to add to the tracks played, or provide reviews for JulesPLees and Miss Mel's sets, fire away!
I entered the club to the sweet sounds of Charlie Zee banging out Marc Aurel - Running (Dominator Mix), grabbed a drink, and sought out my fellow TAs. Pleased with the amount reprazenting, I settled down for a chat and a bit of a boogie. I didn't recognise (or don't remember
) many of the tracks from Charlie's set, but it struck me as more melodic than his last 5AM set. Those on the floor seemed to be enjoying it very much, so props to Charlie for his work.
Come 2:30, it was time for some Strangis magic. Although he'll tell you otherwise, Steve played some killer tracks as previously mentioned, and succeeded in putting smiles on faces. He's a guy that people will come to see -- the fact that many (sadly) left after his set is testament to his rising profile.
Those that left REALLY missed out. Reemo and Julian Reynolds played a stormer of a set. I had words to Jules during Steve's set, and he promised an uplifting, high-energy set (note, not to be confused with hi-NRG, which is the devil's music). Boy, did they ever deliver! I haven't danced like that in months -- these guys kept banging out monster tracks which had me and Michael mesmerised and shuffling away for the whole couple of hours. My personal highlights from that set:
Aly & Fila - Eye of Horus (Ronski Speed Mix)
Cosmic Gate - Raging (Flutlicht Dub) CH0000NAGE!!!
Dito - Sky (Original Mix)
GTR - Mistral
Wow. No more to be said.
Hope to see more at the next night on Friday 25th April! Tell your friends -- after all, local trance gets no better than this...
btw, cheers to Dynafire -- always great to meet new TAs!
Following on, time for the obligatory Dynafire, "first time i've been there" review. I rocked up after going to a friends house warming party where large amounts of alchohol were consumed so I was a little slow when I first got there but a few good tunes from (i think) Charlie Zee got me to wake up and get into it. I finally worked out who else was a TA when i noticed inAcoma's shirt(Yay Faithless addict!), saw that she and the guy next to her where getting into the music and guessed it must be Philby. Thanks to all the other TA's that i meet on the night for being such a friendly and enthusiastic group, great to be somewhere that isn't just Kandy ravers and bimbos. Fantastic to meet you all. Back to the music Steve Strangis got me to smile many times with some really good tunes, and a few i liked that i didn't know, which is always nice to hear. Didn't here much of Reemo and Julian Reynolds set but it sounded pretty damn good when we left. Thanks to inAcoma and Philby for the lift home. All in all, an awesome night!
No one should miss the next instalment of this!

Sorry dude!
I was the guy running around in a light blue "God's Gift" t-shirt. I'll hafta make sure I catch up with you next time.
oh ok, now i sorta remember... i was the big fat guy with a black shirt tied around his waist
hey guys... i was kinda dreading logging on today as i thought the night could have been much better. Happy with Miss Mels set in particular, but i thought Charlie played too hard, so i'm surprised you guys are saying his set was better than the first time?? Maybe i'm being a bangaphobic or something, but when i heard some rubbish off the Bulletproof label & went up & saw the rev counter at 143, i freaked!
JulesPLees & Steve were saying they were a bit dissapointed in their sets, but i thought they were oright.
Reemo & Jules were rippin out some great stuff.... Rank 1 - Airwave, faaark i love that track!
looking forward to Liquid M on the 25th April (Anzac Day) for 100% live original trance, these guys will rock your arses!!

Fuck I wish I could be in attendance of these nights ****s! I'll be down in Melb sometime in July/August thought, hopefully I can catch a couple of these outings, I'd be stoked. Last time I saw steve was at Transatlantic @ QBH, back in.... June I think? (2002) He played vs. Dave Begic for a fucking memorable morning set... hell I wasn't surprised when my best mate started crying over Delerium - Silence (Tiesto's ISOS Remix). Steve I need to download some of your sets if that's possible... I have your first compilation (Leave it 'til the morning?) But not your second (I assume it's completed?).
God I miss Melbourne.
Have phun ****s
