Though Capello didn't help out with Beckham fiasco, but still, how many managers are there who can win league titles in one of the top leagues in Europe?

Who'd want to coach Real? I wouldn't, unless I'm in it for short term money haul, and I'm not in it for the game

I dont think I like Real so much anymore. Clearly this is their business model:

1) Buy most expensive football players even if not needed and hire and fire manager in same season regardless of success
2) ???????

They fire Capello for the whistle fest that the Bernabeu has been until April: Madrid played BAD the entire season, even if they managed to win.

Bernabeu attendance has been, during the entire Real Madrid history, very demanding with the team: you must win, but you must play well too. The same happens with Bar�a.

Its a different situation than 2003 (Del Bosque firing), since that team played great and won the title (I still think that hired Queiroz more for his face than for football matters).

Bernd Schuster (Getafe) will be the next coach: he makes his teams play great.

I predict Schuster will get fired in 2 yrs, for failing to win both La Liga and CL in same yr

The board doesn't necessarily need to listen to the fans. Even if Real played bad, and even if the fans were annoyed by how the team played, they won the title and could use it as motivation to build up on the success for the next couple seasons. Firing the manager at this stage is a dumb thing to do.

Real fans must be idiots if they're happy when the team plays but DOESN'T win the league title.

What the hell kind of gratification would you get out of a trophy-less season with a lot of pretty goals and wonderful plays???

Even then, Capello got Madrid back from the dead to win the title. This is a team that went 4 years without winning a trophy because they had a horrible transfer policy and an even more horrible criteria for success.

Capello came in and bought the first positive moment since 2003 for the team and what do they do - they fire him. At the very least they could have seen the deficit he managed to get this team to overcome and win the title and that should have warranted giving him atleast another year to see how much more of an improvement he could make to the team.

Capello has won the league with every team that he has managed and they let him go. Now they are going to bring in Schuster who might be a great coach but he is coming from managing a team that till 2 years ago was in the second division and this new challenge of managing a big club can be overwhelming even to the best of them and they need time to adjust into a different style of management, finances , egos etc before they can bring the backroom and the on field performances at par with their way of doing things but obviously the Bernabeu management does not allow that much time so I can see Schuster also getting the boot unless he performs a miracle and wins La Liga by March and then gets the Champions Leauge.
