Dumonde - Elektrisch) rips off the riff from Ken Laszlo - Hey hey guy(an 80s italo song).
Does Dumonde - I Feel You also sample an 80's tune?
Seems they jumped on the "electrotrance" bandwagon.

You are right about the original song, except for the fact that JamX and De Leon didn't actually rip off anything. On the sleeve notes of JamX & De Leon - Elektrisch they do give credits to Sandro Oliva who is the writer of Hey Hey Guy.

And yes, DuMonde - I Feel You does feature bits from an early 80s song called Peru - Oriental. And the writers of that song again credited on the sleeve notes as supposed to.

To be exact the original score piece is called "Marwood Walks" which plays especially during a scene in the movie where the character Marwood is walking towards Monty's farm.

Andy & Rich just sped up the melody quite a bit for Solar Coaster.

Tonepushers - Daydreamer
PSB - 20th Century
G&D - Tracking Treasure Down

The intros to "Petter - Untight" and "Naughty Queen - Famous & Rich (Angello & Ingrosso Remix) are very similar; it sounds like they used the same VST.

sounds like a darker scarier Flight 643

Not really.

Is Kim Sozzi - Break Up a remake of an 80s song? It sounds familiar but I can't find the original anywhere.

Posted by wolftickets on May-17-2007 02:44:

Is the original High Fashion - Break Up?

what about

Kai Tracid - Dance For Eternity
and
Kamaya Painters - Endless Wave

both sound pretty similar to me besides Dance for Eternity having some vocals

I just listened to

Genesis - Home By The Sea (1983)

In the chorus, it has a bit that sounds like the beginning of Ken Laszlo - Hey Hey Guy (1984)

Lame lame lame lame.

Tiesto - In The Dark 2007
Ayumi Hamasaki - Still Alone 2001

Does the tune of 4 Strings - Hurricane remind you of any older trance tunes? Maybe it too is a remake of one of Carlo's older productions, ala Silmarillia.

Yes. The original writers are given credit on the Blue sleevenotes tho, "written by David Dundas & Rick Wentworth", while with Solarcoaster they aren't.

(click for samples)

Petter - Some Polyphony (One of my favorite songs, a classic)

sounds a lot like

Francesco Rossi - Seduction (Abyss Remix)

I recently heard 'Seduction' a few weeks ago in the Gareth Emery Podcast, PVD played it in the guest DJ segment of the show. I don't know which track came first (I'm assuming Some Polyphony) but they sure do sound similar.

Rachael Starr - Till There Was You (Gabriel And Dresden rmx)

Wippenberg feat Tiff Lacey - Promised land (Nic Chagall Remix)

Posted by wolftickets on Jun-03-2007 17:04:

Daddy DJ - Daddy DJ
BassHunter - DOTA
Was this a ripoff or was it credited?

Posted by montana on Jun-03-2007 17:39:

it's well credited, it's such an obvious retake

Posted by wolftickets on Jun-15-2007 05:24:

Shiny Toy Guns - Le Disko
Gorillaz - Dare
ok maybe i'm wrong but the baseline for Le Disko sounds like it was ripped from another song...

Posted by wolftickets on Jun-15-2007 05:25:

and i forgot: IM - Cities of the Future(Violet Vision Mix)
also has a similar bassline

Posted by montana on Jun-15-2007 09:27:

orb - a huge ever growing...... 1989
the ambush - casablanca 1994
