You've also assumed that because we have money to burn on ourselves that we don't share it with others - which is wrong. So kindly shut the fuck up and go back to your mother's/aunt's tit.

YOU ALL ARE SO IRRESPONSIBLE. THIS IS THE DOWNFALL OF AMERICA.

I'M MOVING TO JAPAN, THEY UNDERSTAND ME THERE.

Side note: "bumping uglies" really should be a term reserved for straight sex, you know? It just doesn't make sense as a blanket term. Man-on-man gay sex really should be something more like "gumping buglies".

You don't agree that irresponsibility is the downfall of this country?

Do you even believe we are in the downfall, or are you an American Exceptionalist?

Posted by enydo on Jun-27-2011 17:05:

I believe that America is a beacon through which JESUS CHRIST can shine unto the rest of the un-saved world.

You have obviously not witnessed extended length ball sacks in a bean bag chair fight.

Don't you believe that the inception of government is the reaction to individual irresponsibility in the first place?

Irresponsibility is the constant.

Posted by Moral Hazard on Jun-27-2011 17:08:

I think what we're seeing here is that frivolity and expense are very subjective things. For those of us that are gainfully employed and manage our money sufficiently well many of the things that someone with fewer means may deem a waste of money we view as relatively insignificant. It's like when someone making $10 million a year buys a Maybach... sure, for me the dude's driving my mortgate but to him it's a lower % of his annual earnings then my Saab is for me. For Jenny a limo is a reasonable expense.

So Nou, in what specific ways do you contribute to community capacity? How are you making the world around you a better, more responsible place? What partnerships have you formed in the community and what people do you collaborate with to help improve the conditions threatening society the most - like poverty? Just curious.

Pretty much, which is why its funny to see people essentially wanting to go back to a feudal, dark ages state in the country.

I don't have the means right now to do so, and if I did I am not sure of what I would do, at least in regards to poverty. Honestly, poverty is a very complex issue that can not be solved by throwing money at it, it is a product of societal ills that allow vast poverty to occur. I do not have the answers to fix those either, let alone the means.

I can spot the issues though, as many can. Unfortunately I am unable to speak of anything I do contribute, so yes I am being hypocritical to some degree, but it is good to have a persistent and annoying voice shouting at people.

Honestly though, if I did have the money I'd find the best way to invest it in infrastructure, even though that is a job best left to the state. I'd probably also spend my money on initiatives to reform tax law, so we create a country where corporations and wealthy people that exist here contribute back more than their fair share of money.

Individuals alone though sadly have little power, you need coalitions and popular ideas with the backing of masses. Unfortunately in this country it is probably too late, no, strike that, was never possible, to form a country based on civil decency, care for the impoverished, or securing a stable future based on education, initiative and cooperation rather than war and fear.

The inception of government was just the human's imagination/creativity manifest into reality.

Government was later utilized as a mechanism for enslaving those who did not act within the limitations of a governing body. Those enslaved were the individuals who were pushing the envelope of what it ment to be FREE of governance. Thus the government did their job of reacting to those individuals by labeling them irresponsible human scum. As the up rising was killed off one by one; individual by individual people became complacent but there are few who uprise to become the example of what it means to truly be FREE of governance.

In my opinion that is throwing money at the issue.

Those are "feel good" ways of helping, but in the end do nothing really to solve the issue of why we have so many impoverished people in this country.

I did volunteer in HS at a food bank. I found it to be pretty fucking retarded in the end and didn't see how it was actually helping these people.

There are literally HUNDREDS of hardcore video gamers all around the world who suffer through their combat simulation games just not being realistic enough. Nou is helping them through their hardship for no money whatsoever. If that's not giving back, I don't know what is.

Posted by enydo on Jun-27-2011 17:25:

I think your family needs to cut you off completely. Kick you out of whatever property you're living in and say hey, Nou, guess what, go find your own way.

As of right now I think they're just throwing money at the problem.

Andrew, if there wasn't a government then any random joe blow could walk in, kill you in your sleep and steal your shit with out any fear of repercussion.

You have this insanely utopian idea of human kindness and will that negates a long history of violence.

Your ideas are aligned so much with the right wing... Which I am not sure speaks more about the stupidity of either side.
