have you read his biography, "no one here gets out alive"? it's a great book.

and if you get this thread closed for spamming, i will personally see to it that you never get near another drop of alcohol!

echo, i'm very proud that you've been leaving your posts up

Hi Daffs!

Mebot! Wow, you submitted like 14 posts in a row! And I was grumbling, even embarrassed, because I did 3 in a row. hehe Now, I feel much better!

Okay, for your hard work and hitting 1000, more of your lyrics:

Riding through dustclouds and barren wastes
Galloping hard on the plains
Chasing the redskins back to their holes
Fighting them at their own game
Murder for freedom the stab in the back
Women and children are cowards attack

Run to the hills, run for your lives!
Run to the hills, run for your lives!

These next lyrics touched me; maybe its my gloomy mood. I don't know if they are from the 80s.

I can't feel
Feel a thing
I can't shout
I can't scream
Breathe it out
Breathe it in
All this love
From within

I won't cry when you say goodbye
I'm out of tears
I won't die when you wave goodbye
I'm out of tears
Out of tears

I won't drink
I won't eat
I can't hear
I won't speak
Let it out
Let it in
All this pain
From within
And I just can't pour my heart out
To another living thing
I'm a whisper
I'm a shadow
But I'm standing up to sing

I won't cry when you say goodbye
I'm out of tears
I won't die when you wave goodbye
I'm out of tears, yes I am
I won't cry, I swear my eyes are dry
I'm out of tears
I won't cry, I'm going to tell you why
I'm out of tears
Out of tears
Out of tears

let it out
From within
Some you lose
Some you win
I can drift
I can dream
Til I float
Off your screen
And I just can't pore my heart out
To another living thing
I'm a whisper
I'm a shadow
But I'm standing up to sing

I won't cry when you say goodbye
I'm out of tears
I won't die when you wave goodbye
I'm out of tears
I won't cry, I swear my eyes are dry
I'm out of tears
I won't cry, I'm going to tell you why
I'm out of tears

PPR is the post-padding room. its where we once spammed on the NYTA forum.

BTW echoes im impressed with ur musical knowledge

and also can this thread be shut down? i thought that the chill-out room was just for spamming. I mean we dont get any tallies for posts do we?

Well i apologize for my brashness last night i just wanted to be the first person to hit the 1,000 mark

I guess the thread COULD be shut down. The mods are always locking chillout room threads; sometimes I don't understand why. I've looked at locked threads versus open threads and there is no logical explanation (IMO) for some of the locks.

We don't get tallies for posts in chillout. Why would this be a post padding thread? Seems like a PPR would be a thread where you could increase your post count?

I think its cool that you hit 1000. If I weren't so neurotic, I would have done it! And the thread is still around.

Has anyone noticed that the quality of threads in this forum has taken a dive in the last couple of weeks?

It's difficult to avoid my homework when the threads are sooooo pathetic.

Posted by PhloTron on Oct-16-2003 23:59:

yeah...well if you spend all day on the boards like some people do...you eventually run out of things to talk about

Guilty as charged...thank goodness I'm only home 3 days a week...lol

Did I mention I'm watching 9 hockey games tonight...rofl...

Posted by Echo of Silence on Oct-17-2003 00:44:

Everyone is watching baseball here.

I should either write a paper or study for an exam. So...I'm reading threads and drinking American beer which I'm starting to like.

yeah, the thread has taken a bit of a dive with the rest of the threads. i tend to be too drunk too late to feel like posting (if i'm even home) it's just not the same w/o mr s and orbax seems to have ditched this thread.

i wish i had more time to put into this thread because it brought me a lot of happiness, particularly when i first started it nonetheless, i refuse to let this thread die.

anyway, in the spirit of this thread and it's creation: i'm drunk again and thoroughly enjoying it.

baseball can suck it, i don't particularly care about it. i was just at the campus bar and everyone was into the game. i actually got yelled at for standing in the way of one table and the screen. honestly, one home run looks like every other so you might as well just listen.

kisses to all

I'm getting there! I hope I can, in my inebriated state, create a decent composition. I wish I could write it in Danish or even German. Seems like one should be relatively sober if one must create a composition in English. Blecch.

The other evening, I saw a grand slam. I think it was by Chicago. The teams all look alike to me. But finally, I am beginning to understand the game. Use the bat hit the ball run around the bases score.

WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Finally I am back.

I even read all the posts since I left in Ye-Olde thread..only 5 pages or so (I use ber-maximum posts per page mode ). And I wilst answer one q now that was commented on like 2 pages ago.

I might go to PVD at the Riv in Chicago dependin on whether or not PhloTron is coming to town and if I am even in town. I may (I stress may because they did not update us while we were on the road on if we got the project or not) have to be in DC starting Monday the 17th to load in part of the new Xmas Carol at Ford's Theatre. Would also let me buy my dad's old car he wants to sell me cheap and drive it home. So I might not be in town that weekend, but I expect I would travel on Sunday anyway.

Onto what I am doing:

I am enjoying the fact that our flight landed at 8 am and I am getting paid 100 bucks plus 45 bucks per diem for the travel day today and I am already home

Am doing laundry and such reading the forums (I think I might not read any other threads in Chill-Out though I do have a whole day).

A little info on Branson, MO for you all as a warning. It is absolutely creepy. "The Strip" as they call it looks a lot like the strip in Vegas on the surface. But teh place is too clean and it is all the wrong type of shows. Like this ass:

And there is virtually nowhere to get a alcoholic beverage served to you (tons of places to buy beer if it is made in St.Louis, though we did find a place that sells Shiner Bock ) add to that the fact that there is not a single strip joint in town much less a woman in the town that would even be attractive enough to work at one and you can get the drift. The Irish Dance show even has the women wearing black leggings instead of showing off their legs in those nifty little skirts.

I am tempted to book a flight to Vegas for tonight last minute so I can hang out in a seedy locale to "cleanse" myself of the hillbilly-ness.

The one and possibly only redeeming thing about the whole place is the Wildfire coaster at Silver Dollar City (where we were working) It is prettycool though small.

Oh btw....iTunes is available for Windows now so everyone can be like me and listen to music with ber customizable playlists and nifty song browser functions

I decided I was goign to check on where I could go spur o the moment on my long weekend and was oh so close to booking a flight and hotel deal from Chicago to London for 475 bucks. But, alas, I don't think I could swing it seeing as I would have to be back at O'Hare in 4 hours and I still have a lot of laundry and such to do. I do think I know where I am going on my next mini-vacation though

No.

I was tempted to get out of the car and piss on the ghastly sign in front of his theatre when we drove by. It is a typical billboard with a giant 3d yakov head punching through it and a mechanical arm waving an American flag. ber-gaudy.

Branson was a nightmare. I was only gone 8 days and it feels like I was there for a year.

Ok I took a nap and I thought "I need to post a lyric post in 'the thread' " so here we go. A little Human League action

You were working as a waitress in a cocktail bar
When I met you. I picked you out
I shook you up

And turned you around
tunied you into someone new.

Now five years later on you've got the world at your fee
Success has been so easy for you.
But don't forget it's me who put you where you are now

And I can put you back down too.

Don't
don't you want me? - You know I can't believe it
When I hear that you won't see I me.
Don't
don't you want me? - You know I don't believe yo
When you say that you don't need me.
It's much too late to find
When you think you've changed your mind

You'd better change it back or we will both be sorry.

Don't you want me
baby? Don't you want me - oh?
Don't you want me
baby? Don't you want me - oh?
I was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar -
That much is true.
But even then I knew I'd find a much better place
Either with or without you.
The five years we have had have been such good times
I still love you.
But now I think it's time I live my life on my own

I guess it's just what I must do.

Don't
don't you want me? - You know I can't believe it .
Don't you want me
baby? Don't you want me - oh? . .
Don't you want me
baby? Don't you want me - oh? . . .

Welcome back, Mr S! Wow, I suck as a stalker! You've been back for almost 12 hours!! How negligient I am.

We missed you. All of us. We're glad you're home. The thread definitely needs you're input to stay awake!

I'm going out tonight, hoping not to get carded. If I get carded, I'll be back soon. Thank you for remembering to post a lyric!

Thank ye for your nice welcome lass.

I am about to go to bed.....my week of sleeping on a substandard matress in that crap hotel along with my 2 hours of sleep last night before my flight home mean I am in dire need of sleep. I am now very glad that I did not decide to go to London today .

Have fun not getting carded. I only get carded at grocery stores or when I am out with people who look younger than me. Ahhh the joy of looking 30 when you are 18, and at 25 too for that matter hehe.
