Mariano Rivera is my vote for Cy Young. Take him off the Yankees, they aren't near the Red Sux. But take Johan Santana off, they still suck.
Mo is what separates the Yanks and Red Sux right now.
Is there any doubt what so ever that MO is going into the Hall of Fame?

Well, the Yanks go into this game with a 1 game lead over the Indians and Bosux. Definitely gonna be verrrrrrrry interesting weekend.
Yanks need to win the first two games. If they split and leave it up to Schilling vs. Moose on Sunday.... then I'm scared. If that happens the Yanks will take the tiebreaker at the stadium with Chacone pitching. I'm hoping to win the first two. Wang vs. Wells and Big Unit vs. Wakefield.
We can hit Wells! Wang is perfect for Fenway if he can continue to throw his 95 mph sinker to force a lot of ground balls. Big Unit I think is primed and ready to throw some heat. I think that game is gonna be like 2-1. We hit something like .160 against the Yankee Killer, Tim Wakefield, but I think we can scratch a couple off him.
This guy at work this morning bet me that the Red Sux will sweep the Yanks. If they lose one game, I win the bet. I already pre-debited my bank account the $20 we bet...
I dont know how much of a Yankee killer he is, hes 1-3 vs. the Yankees this season, loosing the last three starts - although the team doesnt particularly bat that well against him.

I cant believe it....we did it....division champions for the 8th straight year....who would have thought it....
congrats to the Yanks, for doing the same ol, same ol
Amazing after being in last place earlier in the season, getting swept by the worst team in the majors (Royals), having a 5-11 record against the Devil Rays, and being down to the Red Sox by 4 games with 3 weeks left.
I feel bad for the Indians, for losing 5 out of the last 6, all 1-run games, starting with the ball that Grady Sizemore lost in the sun, against the Royals.
If they don't make it, then it was they whose hopes the Devil Rays spoiled
They'll need to win tomorrow, and hope the Yanks beat the Sox (but they'll probably be too hungover), and then beat the Sox in a playoff.
Unreal, goddam sox, well they tried, sooooo its over for us this year, now Im going for any team that beats those corruprt yanks

What a sad collapse by the Tribe
So it's Red Sox and Yanks both in the playoffs yet again
Interesting that Yanks, Red Sox, and Angels all finished with the same record.
anyways, so the playoff field is set
AL:
Yanks vs. Angels (perhaps a misfortune of winning the AL East, and in losing the final game, they lose home-field advantage)
Red Sox vs. White Sox
NL:
Braves vs. Astros... again
Cardinals vs. Padres - imagine the team with the worst record taking down the team with the best record
btw, did anyone go to the Mets season finale? The ovation given by the crowd for Mike Piazza was incredible, definitely a day to remember.
I also had the fortune of seeing what is probably his last home run as a Met, last Thursday - a 450-foot shot that cleared the bleachers.
In that same game, Tom Glavine finished his season with a 2-hit complete game shutout, with 11 strikeouts - first double-digit K game for him since 1998!
Well, Piazza will be playing DH somewhere next year. Any ideas?
The Angels don't scare me, Yanks will beat them.
Pizza will definitely play DH somewhere next year.... my guess somewhere on the west coast.
I'm guessing Angels or Orioles for Pizza. Good memories though. Best Mets position player ever*
*potential doesn't count, otherwise Straw is our best player. God damn cocaine. Oh well...
