orbax yo...

so i was getting all inspired today and stuff hehehe. i think i'm going to start running to the rec center 2-3 times a week. here are the issues...

it'd take me about 45 mins to run to the center (tried it tonight) and it opens at 5:30am. so i'm thinking about waking up around 4am...leaving the house around 4:15-25 ish...and getting to the rec center around 5 am. i figure when i get there i could have a quick absorbing meal so that i can replenish for workout at 5:30. lets say i work out for an hour...i'd then have to run home and the return trip takes about an hour because its all up hill. so what do you think...should i have another meal right after i finish the work out...or do i wait until i get home after the hour run back home?

anyone elses input is appreciated too heheeh...i just know you've been doing something similar at times in the past walker...so how'd you work the meals and stuff...

start with 1/4 apple 2 spoons of peanut butter and a mouthful of water.

wait 15

keep first run there pretty light, still got a workout and run back

drink lots of water during workout. not to point of being full, just stay hydrated.

run back, start of slow, its gonna be difficult at first, real difficult. just take it easy, itll kick you into gear at about 1/4 mile or so. LISTEN TO MUSIC LOUDLY, breathing fucks you up mentally.

once home DONT EAT. takes 15-20 minutes for body temp to lower from Flu levels. Your body wont digest anything in this time, drink cool water, not cold.

after 15-20 min, eat a nice energy meal of 40/40 protein carb and maybe a granola bar or something. then dont eat until lunch, no snacks, drink water, stay hydrated.

workin on back still...

ive been taking longer and longer rests ...like3 days between workouts and man they have been so much better.

3 weeks ago i was struggling with the 60s for DB press and now im trowing up the 80s with same reps/sets. Ive been feeling much better growth.

on T-bar rows I went from a 45 and a 25 to 3-45s and its also been feeling good!

just some update pics...still have only lost 5 lbs in last 2 weeks, but trying to maintain muscle as I do this so ><

also realize my webcam doesnt pick up definition lol. Im not saying its incredible, but its a lot more than that...man I need a normal camera again.

Posted by Floorfiller on May-14-2005 19:14:

looks good man. keep it up...you're definitely gaining muscularity...

oh and thanks for the advice on the morning run / gym thing hehehe. i've been trying to keep to something similar...

oh bro man...this hill is fucking killer. its literally gotta be like a 30 degree climb for about 3 miles...

my joints are alright...i'm just taking days off in between so i can rest them up hehehe.

i was thinking about what you were saying in the past about the leanitude..and i think that's what i'm gonna do...i just wanna lose this shitty weight and then i'm gonna worry about muscle...i'm just tired of it hehehe

Posted by Orbax on May-14-2005 19:41:

yea thats where I am at the moment....if you want motivation to lose weight, shave your chest and stomach. youll know what I mean when you do hehe.

but yeah, id rather be skinny and what muscle I have showing through, then trying to become so massively ripped that it pushes my skin aside. plus one is a much quicker way hehe. Also, girls keep telling me they like skinny guys. Big guys are just too intimidating

Has anywhere in this thread covered diets? Now that I have sorted out my job working times I have decided to take up football again next season. This will involve training twice a week though, and if i'm gonna participate I want to do it properly. I am going to go on a protein diet to bulk up first so that it is actually worth me working out, but I basically just want recommending decent meals, snacks, foods etc that are best for me, and at what sort of intervals I should be eating these in the day. And also what to avoid. If anyone can help with this that'd be great.

not eating until lunch isnt smart. the only thing you should be taking in after any kind of moderate to hard activity is somethings predigested. so a shake, now it doesnt have to be a solid muscletech, whatever shake. get a meal replacemt, usually a good balance of carbs/protein/fats. you have to realize if you eat something it takes time to digest food, you loosing time and you metabolism is slowing down. it takes roughly 90 mins to fully digest food.

dont really reccomend that...makes eating a fucking chore in addition to working out, takes joy out of your life and people burn out. but youre right on the part of carbohydrate and fat after a workout being more important than protein.

it takes 2-6 hours.

oh yea orbax, when i press with this thing, i only feel my right side of chest, shoulders and arm (like that burning feeling or pain) left i dont feel it that much.

Even if i single weight lift , i feel my right arm more, whats going on?

oh yea i have 20 kilos more weight to put on the thing but i dont think i can do that yet.

Posted by Orbax on May-15-2005 18:53:

yeah, i use dumb bells a lot at first so arms even out in strength and then use barbell...just focus on pushing harder with one arm

brb going to store more in a sec

Posted by Massive84 on May-15-2005 20:35:

Just found this site, shows how things are done correctly
http://www.theministryoffitness.com/exercises.htm

Hmm orbax is bench pressing a good all round workout for chest, shoulders and arms? i just wanne work on that in the summer. Or do you recommend me joining a fitness club and do other things?

i need also to lose more weight, 10 kilos or so.

for chest stick with press, your bar you can sit up and lift it straight above you called military press for shoulders and arm can do skull crushers and bicep curls. you can do an awesome upper body with 70 lbs.

k tnx for the advise.

That Skull crusher looks tough.

Posted by Orbax on May-15-2005 20:51:

yeah i do it with the bar and like 10 lbs. make your elbows are behind your head, the goal is to put strain on the triceps and you do that by getting an extension

Posted by Evil_Gnome on May-15-2005 20:51:

I love skull crushers. I always finish my arm workouts with them, they just kill my arms and it feels so good.

Posted by Floorfiller on May-20-2005 06:29:

so today i was running again. man, i've been getting terrible burns on the inside of my thighs from the boxer briefs rubbing on my leg. i never used to have this problem. so is it that my leg is a fat hunk of crap? should i be wearing boxers instead? what do you guys wear when working out? anyway, man that shit hurts...i was walking a little funny today...

Posted by zack3082 on May-20-2005 13:33:

been there, get some medicated baby powder (gold bond) and you will have no more problems, also if you just going to be doing running underarmor makes a good briefs that are somewhat long to prevent that.

Posted by mubLa-tyN on May-20-2005 15:26:

Hey.

I just startet doing deadlifts and i'm wondering how you guys take them?
Do you place the bar on the floor after each rep, or do you keep it up doing the entire set?

Also do you take them on leg days or back days?
