DAMN YOU FOR SAYING Y'ALL

I am trying my best to rid myself of the nightmare that was my week and you go and remind me

Oh well, I guess I should not try too hard since I will probably have to go back next Saturday for a couple more days of hell. We shall see what transpires and such.

Have fun drinking, I am going to bed now. Watched Bull Durham for the first time all the way through cause it was just starting as I was flippin channels.

My eyes are heavy and such.

hi!

Okay, mono...

" Signs of mono include fever, sore throat, headaches, white patches on the back of your throat, swollen glands in your neck, feeling tired and not feeling hungry."

If you think you have it...

Does mono have any complications?

Sometimes. The main serious concern with mono is that the spleen will enlarge and even rupture (tear open). The spleen is like a large gland. It's located in the upper part of your abdomen on the left side. It has functions that relate to your blood.

Although a ruptured spleen is rare in people with mono, it's wise to be aware of the signs and call your doctor right away if you notice any of them. Signs of a ruptured spleen include pain in the left upper part of your abdomen (under the left chest), feeling lightheaded, feeling like your heart is beating fast and hard, bleeding more easily than usual and having trouble breathing.

Can mono be cured?

No. But mono will go away on its own. Symptoms usually last about 4 weeks.

How is mono treated?

The main point of treatment is to relieve your symptoms. The following list includes tips on treatment.

Rest.

Drink plenty of fluids.

If you have a sore throat, gargle with salt water, or suck on throat lozenges, hard candy or flavored frozen desserts (such as Popsicles).
You may want to take acetaminophen (one brand name: Tylenol) or ibuprofen (some brand names: Advil, Motrin, Nuprin) to relieve pain and fever. Do not give aspirin to children. Aspirin should be avoided because it has been associated with a disease called Reye's syndrome in children. Reye's syndrome is a serious illness that can lead to death.

Do I need an antibiotic?

Antibiotics like penicillin are of no help in mono. Mono is caused by a virus, and antibiotics don't work against viruses. If you have a bacterial infection in addition to having mono, your doctor may give you an antibiotic.

(I found this at familydoctor.org)

I drove to Wisconsin today to buy me a powerball ticket and to go tool shopping at Farm&Fleet. What I went specifically for they were out of and they did not have any good sales

Sigh

I know it is stupid but the jackpot rolled over and I needed to get out of my apartment for a while

If I win the 162 million big ones it will be more than worth it.

I have to go back to work tomorrow and I don't really feel like it. Oh well, have to find out if I am going to have to fly to Branson again next week and if we got the job in DC in November.

I think we need some song lyrics to brighten the day hehe:

Movin' right along in search of good times and good news,
With good friends you can't lose,
This could become a habit!
Opportunity knocks once let's reach out and grab it (yeah!),
Together we'll nab it,
We'll hitchhike, bus or yellow cab it!
(Cab it?)

Movin' right along.
Footloose and fancy-free.
Getting there is half the fun; come share it with me.
Moving right along (doog-a-doon doog-a-doon).
We'll learn to share the load.
We don't need a map to keep this show on the road.

(Hey, that song is sounding better Fozzie.)

Movin' right along,
We've found a life on the highway.
And your way is my way,
So trust my navigation.

California here we come, the pie-in-the-sky-land.
Palm trees, and warm sand.
Though sadly we just left Rhode Island.
(We did what?!)
(Just forget it.)

Movin' right along (doog-a-doon doog-a-doon).
Hey LA, where've you gone?
Send someone to fetch us, were in Sasketchewan!

Movin' right along (doog-a-doon doog-a-doon).
You take it, you know best.
Hey, I've never seen the sun come up in the West?

Movin' right along.
We're truly birds of a feather,
We're in this together and we know where we're going.
Movie stars with flashy cars and life with the top down.
We're storming the big town,
(Yeah, Storm is right should it be snowing?)
(Uh, no I don't think so...)

Movin' right along,
Do I see signs of men?
Yeah, "welcome" on the same post that says "come back again."
Moving right along, nice town!
Footloose and fancy-free,
You're ready for the big time...
Is it ready for me?

Movin' right along,
Movin' right along,
Movin' right along,
Movin' right along.

Alright then I don't have mono.. I thought that one of the symptoms was being unusually tired ( which i have been for the past couple days) but its probably stress, and after this relaxing weekend where i was able to sleeep for 16+ hours everyday i feel a lil better

What did VB say? If it was in our thread, I may have missed it.

I called home today. So now, I'm teary eyed and homesick. I am so far away. I feel...sometimes I feel very young, too young to be so far from home. And in case anyone wonders, yes, I did get carded on Friday and the guy did the math (once I was carded in NY and I showed my id and the guy didn't do the math) so...

I decided I will "steal" my sister's ids and she can get new ones. At least she's 18. It seems like you have to be 21 here to really do what you want. Mebot, I'm glad you don't have mono. And I'm on page 26 too. Page 69 definitely sounds more...enticing? hehe

It was in the chillout whore thread hehe.

69 is a much more intersting page number, I will agree. But 26 is good too cause it is my birthday.

Does your sister live in the states too?

I will post a lyric for no apparent reason:

Wow
Moving on the floor now babe you're a bird of paradise
Cherry ice cream smile I suppose it's very nice
With a step to your left and a flick to the right
You catch that mirror way out west
You know you're something special and you look like you're the best

Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand
Just like that river twisting through a dusty land
And when she shines she really shows you all she can
Oh Rio Rio dance across the Rio Grande

I've seen you on the beach and I've seen you on t.v.
Two, of a billion stars it means so much to me
Like a birthday or a pretty view
But then I'm sure that you know it's just for you

Hey now (wow) look at that did he nearly run you down
At the end of the drive the lawmen arrive you make me feel
Alive, alive, alive

I'll take my chance 'cause luck is on my side
I tell you something I know what you're thinking
I tell you something I know what you're thinking

Her name is Rio, she don't need to understand
I might find her if I'm looking like I can
Oh Rio Rio hear them shout across the land
From mountains in the north down to the Rio Grande

I am smiling a "cherry ice cream smile." Doesn't it seem delicious?

It is your birthday? Today? On your profile it says January. I think you are 25. Until January. Oooooooooooooh. Your birthday is on the 26 day. Ugh. I'm slow. Okay so do you realize you will be 26 on the 26th only once in your life and it will be on the next birthday?!!!

My sister Anja is in New Jersey. She is one year older than I. She is at Princeton.

What did Vivid say in the Chillout Whore thread? I will look but maybe you should tell me (just in case I can't find it).

Posted by Mebot on Oct-20-2003 02:20:

Anyhoo.. i think ill change my preferences to get a lot more posts to show up on 1 page...

Oh I am so thrilled about my birthday being the same. Ok maybe not. Would be much better if I lived in Australia, then my birthday would be a day off every year (Jan 26 is Australia Day).

Princeton and Stanford eh? You must be some of them smart girls

I was going to apply to Stanford back in the day but I did not feel like writing the damn essays...I am lazy like that

I need to go to bed...got to drive to work in the morning, sigh.

Sorry bout Hee-Haw Hell, Mr S.

Mebot, I was in class or in lab all day. I left my room at 7:15 and returned at 5:50. Now dinner then studying. I am taking 6 classes and M and W are the busiest days. My brain shouldn't have to think this much. I wish I could think faster.

Let's see, hi to Daff and Orbs and Bread and Phlo...and Occ and DaveS who sometimes appear but not often. The political place is my favorite forum lately but geez, I need a dictionary and sharp mind to understand half of what I read.

Damn I wanted to watch that tonite!! but Monday's are my intro to film class movie night. We watched Frankenstein and The Wolf Man tonite to showcase the horror genre. Next week I think we're doing musicals so we're watching Singin' In the Rain.

Movies are fascinating and so is music.

I love the 80s strike back will be on again.
