Totally forgot about this, but yes I do agree.

Pretty much. I mean, the old one is a classic. There's nothing else you could call it. And you can't just 'create' a classic.

But I really like it

Well said.

Awful. Looks like they tried to model the front on a mustang and failed, doors on a Lambo and failed (looks like a fucking Seagull), rear on an Aston and failed. But hey, it's a Merc so it's probably built well

The new Merc is a great looking car (definitly looks better than the SLR).

Dude, that's why they're called gull-wing doors. MB pioneered them on the original 300 SL Gullwing in the 50's.

I think the new Merc is stunning, though that red colour is awful. The car should only be sold in silver.

Posted by Fledz on Sep-13-2009 14:14:

I'm well aware of that, but it doesn't mean they have to look like actual seagull wings. I'm sorry but the car design is unoriginal and a mishmash of poorly thought out concepts.

They weren't trying to come out with some groundbreaking nor wholly original design. That was not their intention. They set out to bring an old classic back in a modern retro design that was not a horror story like the Chevy HHR and SSR or the Chrysler PT Cruiser.

My buddies turbo s2000 AE86 (old setup)

Here it is in action

Drifting isnt as lame as i thought it was. He has given me rides in the past, but now with his new turbo setup that car MOVES. He did some hot laps around his shop, 70mph a few inches from a curve is crazier then what i though it was.

are these things pieces of crap?

Posted by gehzumteufel on Sep-29-2009 20:35:

No. Although this is a shaft driven model. If I were to get a BMW sports bike it would be the new one. They actually finally designed a sports bike like everyone else in terms of placement and what not. Nothing unusual like BMW loves to do.

Posted by Slylee on Sep-29-2009 20:39:

my dad just got it and is all excited about it.

but of course pat is like "a bmw for a bike? LOL"

Posted by Slylee on Sep-29-2009 21:12:

why is this thing showing up every time i come in this thread only?

Because one of the pics earlier in the thread has been removed by Nieman Marcus from the public site.

And lol at Pat thinking BMW can't make a sports bike. I will agree that up until their latest one, they had issues, but their newest bike is fucking badass.

mmm... e30 v10 m3

so sick... looks like a sleeper

my fav:

Ruf is a fantastic tuner, but I would still prefer the 993 911 GT2 Turbo with the proper GT2 wing.

I do love that you prefer the 993 over the 996+ though. 993 ftw

Posted by Moongoose on Sep-30-2009 09:26:

If you're talking RUF, then you cant not mention the CTR Yellowbird.

That car is insane

Posted by gehzumteufel on Sep-30-2009 15:08:

The Ruf Yellowbird is a different generation though. Although that is not detracting from its awesomeness.

i don't like the spoiler on the silver one.

i'm definitely getting into things like these now that we own one lol

i can't wait until we paint ours. still rocking the gray primer shit.

Posted by gehzumteufel on Sep-30-2009 15:50:

I love that gen Supra. Can look so hot.

Posted by Slylee on Sep-30-2009 15:58:

i know dude. i never would have thought. we've seen some really sick clean ones at the car show every friday by us.

i'm really impressed with patrick's progress on the car with just working in the shed. he cleaned the whole thing out and organized it and put a shelf in there and bought a window AC unit and that's his little shop lol he painted the entire car in the primer himself too and it looks like a professional job.

i'll have to upload some pics of it and the engine and see what all you buffs think.

Posted by gehzumteufel on Sep-30-2009 16:02:

Please do!

Love it. My friend has one, though his is white with white rims, so I constantly give him shit. I keep telling him I feel like Elton John riding around in it.

Posted by Slylee on Oct-03-2009 13:51:

i dunno, i'm a big fan of white with gold (buffed) rims. i know it sounds tacky but on a clean car, it looks sick. it seems to be sort of becoming popular. saw a couple of imports witht that color combo at the car show. i'll try to find a pic of what i mean.

*edit* not the exact style rims i would pick but you get the idea. picture quality is shit too.
