Red eye for life!! I swear it's a light-eyed thing. I see it more on people with blue/green/gray eyes than I do on people with brown eyes. I get it in almost every picture too.

I'm not sure how the density of one's iris would influance the red-eye phenomenon... it's all about dialation and angle to the camera.

I've got grey, trick is to look about 2ft to the side of the camera away from the flash and it'll happen a lot less.

Wiki has some suggestions that I'll have to try as well. My pupils are naturally always very dilated...so many a picture of me has been ruined by red eye.
