First time I've ever heard anyone say it has no taste.

However, I did some work with the head brewer a few weeks back and he was saying that the brewing team isn't 100% satisfied with the taste and they're about to change the yeast they use. He promised it'll do "funky things" to the taste (in a good way).

I'm by no means a dark ale taste expert. I am actually enjoying it more and more as I drink it. Just wish it had a slight more taste to it

I've been binging on some Francis ford Coppola 2007 diamond cabernet sauvingon because I got a case of it for Xmas. it's not bad at all, although I don't know why they bought me a case of it. must of been cheap due to Nicholas cage shame or something.

either way my teeth shall be red even if this is the beer thread because the bag of purple kush makes me invincible. that's right stu, I eat birds.

You need a Mike's Hard Lemonade.

I would totally drink a cherry one right now.

Posted by Halcyon+On+On on Jan-10-2012 05:13:

They make cherry? The only good one I've had is the raspberry, but I have a hard time detecting the alcohol in it, so it usually gets a shot or two of tequila swished into it, because I have a problem.

I like getting discumfuckulated.

This is right on the cusp of being too malty, but I still like it.

Edit: It has grown on me over the past few sips. I now like it a lot. I still don't think I'd like anything much sweeter though. The DFH 90 and Harpoon Leviathan come to mind as Imperial IPAs I've had that were far too sweet for my taste.

Green Flash is great, but I have noticed more variation in the flavor of Imperial than any other beer I have tried. Age, heat, etc. Dunno.

But if you can get it straight from the keg in SoCal or anywhere else it is one of the best I have tried.

Despite being from Utah, I think the Epic Imperial IPA is more consistently better, but also more expensive.

Currently enjoying:

not as good as the Lagunitas Alt Anniversary, but gotta support the locals, and quite well rounded!

and one of my favs:

if you need to ask, go out and find it now. comes in a 750ml for more beer!

Where do people buy all these beers?

Posted by LAdazeNYnights on Jan-12-2012 02:01:

Here in the US, and across much of Europe, there's a thriving craft beer market. Not all liquor stores have good selections but I'm sure we all have our favorite retailers. It seems as though Australia is lagging behind in the craft beer scene. Sushi's growing interest in trying some of the beers we always talk about made this apparent. There are some online bottle shops that cater to you aussies and sell beers from all over. Stu went ahead with ordering some.

The local craft beer store I go to just got their on-site license so they can have tastings and function essentially like a regular bar.

Next wednesday they're having a tasting of 4 different Dogfish Head beers and 2 Sierra Nevadas with complimentary hors d'oeuvres for only $15. It said it was 40oz of beer total, so seems like a pretty good deal.

I forget the beers that were mentioned aside from Dogfish Head- Theobroma, and Dogfish Head-My Antonia.

Apparently Dogfish Head and Sierra Nevada are collaborating on a craft brew sometime in the next year or so.
