Wow... SHAMEFUL GAME!!! Portugal are fucking terrible players, they did NOT deserve that win. But it's all good, England will be kicking them out next round. Still though, shame on Portugal, i would be embarassed to call myself Portuguese right now.

Both teams fouled terribly, but Portugal players just played dirty at times. In general, it was one of the dirtiest games Ive ever watched.

freeaking crap. How is a headbut not a straight red? or the running out to the fans after the goal not a straight card. ugh. ugly game. will put a shadow over the world cup now

I'm thinking FIFA will see that when they watch the tapes and probably sanction him for it, hopefully he won't be able to play the next game because he sure as hell doesn't deserve to. Dirtiest game i've seen to date. And i thought the Italians were bad...

Posted by Aitizaz on Jun-25-2006 21:24:

my god what a horrible game! what were they thinking...or were they at all? first 10-15 minutes im thinking holland is gonna pull out a surprise here...but then damn!!...maniche happened...that guy is such a big game player its not even funny..man of the match for me! what happened after is not even worth mentioning.

holland...well done lads! they went down fighting...they will be a better team by the euro2008 and an even better one come world cup 2010 as most of their squad is in their early 20's...though i think the media is gonna make life pretty hard for marco van basten for leaving out Ruud Van Nistlerooy...and his inexperience at coaching showed on the bench when scolari was going crazy...

now who should i root for?

Why not a red for the Dutch player pushing the Portuguese player (Petit) to the ground WAY after play ended?

not only that...

how was this not an assault charge, let alone a booking?

the topper was the three Portugese surrounding Heitinga after Deco chopped him down...real tough, boys, real tough...

Posted by m2j on Jun-25-2006 22:43:

both teams played dirty.

portugal played the dirties out of the two tho.

Agreed!!! With the part about they don't play well together anyways. Im an engaland supporter all the way, it's my country of birth, but it pains me to see this much talent struggle with every single game they play. Their toughest opponent so far, sweeden, outplayed them for most of the game, and germany took it to them. Portugal is another great example of a team that has played great as a team. Hoping they can turn things around in the next round, but not all that confident.

For the first time in my life I'll be going for England!!!

I agree there should have been a yellow there, emotions got way out of hand. Cocu and Figo had words to each other during the drop ball that was just before this incident. I think thats where the game lost everything.

Would you want 5 porkchops hovering over your player?

Posted by DJ Robben on Jun-25-2006 23:11:

Portugal are a crock, a total fucking crock. They dive, winge, cheat.

Figo, should damn well know better, and then he hits the ground no more than five minutes after throwing a headbutt. Crock of shit game. The dutch were dirty as well, but, you know what, they still played with a bit of pride.

Deco also, is a shame, to two nations (He's not really portugese after all) " We dont' get the ball, so i'll 2 foot a player with my spikes up"

Dirty cheating ****s they are.

Portugese people in toronto, shouldn't even be celebrating that sham of a victory.

Most anticipated match for me now is Germany vs. Argentina.

Posted by m2j on Jun-26-2006 00:04:

is it just me... or does Maniche of Portugal looks a lot like Armin Van Buuren?

VS

Uncanny...

two teams i've been supporting so far.
but for me its Argentina > Germany

GO ARGENTINA!!

but if Germany wins (which is likely) I won't be too upset, as Germany is my second choice.

I mean they got great players and all, but great players does not a good TEAM make!

I think if they worried less about who would be captain or what the next big endorsement deal is they could concentrate more on football.

I see what you're saying and there is merit to it, but they're still grinding out wins rather well. How many chances did Ecuador really have outside of Terry's blunder gift early on? I think Robinson only made one save.

Portugal are a fucking disgrace and I've developed a real hatred for their team. Figo should miss at least the next game for his deliberate headbutt and I hope Ronaldo's hamstring is torn. What a pathetic excuse for a football player. Nothing will please me more than for England to destroy the Pork and Cheese next week so I can wave huge St. George Crosses in my Portuguese infested neighbourhood. You sould have seen them driving around tonight acting like they'd won the last 5 world cups.

Posted by DJ Robben on Jun-26-2006 00:36:

i kinda wanna go down to college street saturday, draped in the St.Georges Cross. Basically a big up yours.

we all drove up and down in front of the Portuguese club today (just twice) and threw out a couple "see you on saturday wankers". It's interesting...out of all the ethnicities around here, they are the most arrogant and vocal and don't fly one normal sized flag, but several flags on each window with a LARGE ONE strung on the hood! Fucking idiots.

Posted by DJ Robben on Jun-26-2006 00:41:

oh i can't wait, to see what excuse they come up with " The ref was a sham, we beat england! fuckin ref!"

I can't wait to shove it back in their faces
