Jesus Christ people!!! Its only Benassi... If you dont like him then go up to the top stage and check out a local. The full line up hasn't even been released yet.
For me, Markus Schulz been there is worth my money. Besides, Benny is not that bad at a massive as oppsosed to smaller shows.

Posted by Section 8 on Feb-18-2009 15:27:

on don't get me wrong, Markus is awesome, props for that.

its just Benassi reminds me of the Deadmau5 crowd...

the "its cool to like this DJ at the moment" type people :X

I would agree. Benassi throws down at massives. Him at a club is different. Favorite set of his was when he was at POP a while ago. He tore it up.

couldn't have said it any better.

a bunch of highlands ranch preps liking the "in" thing at the moment

Posted by omega1n on Feb-18-2009 22:51:

Im sorry but that statement is retarded. So if Armin came to GDF you wouldn't go either since "its cool to like this DJ at the moment" because he's number 1?

Same type of people at Deadmau5 or Bennassi are the same type of people that go to an Armin show or even now Above & Beyond.

Posted by hakudoshi on Feb-18-2009 23:30:

No I have went to GDF for several years and don't get me wrong I know what brings out the crowd and it is what is the popular thing at the given time. What I am saying is it would be awesome if they brought something unique and different instead of the "usual" thing.

But I have seen the crowd change over the years and thus why I said that.

Posted by omega1n on Feb-19-2009 00:05:

I respect that. But as much as I dislike Benassi too, you can't say that he is the usual thing. When was the last time he ever came for GDF? I bet you that GDF will be his next appearance from the last time he was here last year at Beta.

So far as the line up is concerned, it is new and fresh for a GDF line up. Last year was almost the same for the exception of Junkie XL in which imo he tore it up more than any of the headliners.

i Vote (though it will never happen) Juno Reactor @ GDF

Posted by element-y on Feb-19-2009 07:18:

What would be great is if they had the event from 12pm or so. That way they can really book top notch artists that bring a crowd and top notch artists that don't come out - and gain respect from the true music fans. Go from 12pm-12am. Make it killer. No need for filler locals on main stage - do locals from 12-4pm or so and that is enough for mainstage. Beatport can afford it. Sure they are losing money, but on GDF they make a crap ton (I know the profits for it). And artists always ask to get signed for an event at red rocks, and with beatport doing it, artists lower their costs.

Above & Beyond:

1st hr and 15 min = suck

Last 45 min = awesome

Posted by DJ Blitzkrieg on Feb-20-2009 15:37:

Really? And they only played for two hours? Why did Guv get a longer set lol?

Btw, how was Jaytech? I was so pissed I didn't get to seem here when the boys came.

Posted by Section 8 on Feb-20-2009 20:26:

jaytech sucked ;-\ - progressive garbage

but keep in mind, i love the melodic and hard trance, not this progressive shit.

if i wanted to go see Sander Van Doorn, i would have bought tickets for that, not Above & Beyond -_-

I loved Jaytech!! By far one of the best nights for me! Actually liked Jaytech more than A&B.

I was disappointed with Above and Beyond's overall set. The first hour and twenty minutes was very very progressive. Then after for 40 minutes it was melodic and uplifting one after the other. They should have mixed the tracks around. It was a very odd build up. No flow at all in my opinion. Shame. Jaytech had a far better overall fan reaction then A&B so maybe they tried to imitate it. A&B played an Anjunadeep session more than Anjunabeats session. Many actually left around 1am or so - not to relate it to the event, but guess people had to leave early or what not - possibly didn't enjoy A&B? It was packed for Jaytech though. I agree with Omega1 that Jaytech had a far better set - more flow for that type of music. Wish A&B brought it like what I was expecting - such as their Lovefest set in SF.

Come see me play tomorrow night at The Church plus Hycloud and FINALLY John O'Callaghan!! WOOT!!!

Posted by Section 8 on Feb-27-2009 00:48:

woot! i hope O'Callaghan tears it up!

Posted by element-y on Feb-27-2009 06:50:

Will be there for Omega1n's set for sure and of course for O'Callaghan. Hope he brings hard hard trance and not a proggy set. I want his style and not what has been playing by everyone lately. Saw him once and he was great. Hope he does the same tomorrow
